It all depends how cotto handless the pressure and know with his new trainer emanuel it look like they may have worked that out his defence is bettter and jab is even more powerfull iff quintana can hit williams so many times like he did i know that cotto can wear him down plus ive seen williams tired in the margo fight that would off been cotto it could of been the end once cotto senses he can finish you its over hes wanna the best finishers in the game.

if quintana can time and land on williams cotto will have a field day. he is a much better boxer than people give him credit for. williams will feel his power. cotto would win

Stupidest post of the entire thread. There are numerous reasons to think Cotto might win... but are you seriously gonna say because he tired against Margarito????????????

He threw over 100 punches in the 12th round.

Margarito is the one who gassed in that fight because of the relentless workrate. Are you serious?

And Cotto is not the counterpuncher Quintana is. He is a better fighter... but he is not a southpaw counterpuncher.

Neack break i did make a mistake on the tired part thats because that fight was a while ago but to say that cotto is not better counter puncher than quintana made me laugh thats was cotto was known for early in his carrer look at his early carrer fights ive been waching cotto since his early fights he just doesent do it like that anymore but when he wants two he does it nasty ala cotto to paulie a double left hook to the face counter.

williams wins this fight. but i think you may be surprised to see cotto with some success with the jab. what he does behind it will go far in determining how competitive the fight is. its either going to be a close UD for paul if cotto works effectively behind the jab as williams is open for it....or williams will win this going away in the championship rounds if cotto just uses it in spurts with nothing behind it.

Cotto is in slow motion (relative to his former self), even against the jewish guy with one leg, he looked mythodical and appeared to be doing a lot thinking. While in some ways that's good, I think it makes him a spilt second slower in reacting to punches, throwing punches, and that's bad news in this fight. I think Cotto pre Toney would have been a great match-up, Cotto today I can't see it being anything but a run away decision for PWilly. 8-4 ish

the same paul williams who was being schooled by cintron for 3 rounds, I seriously doubt that he could beat cotto but he could make it interesting, Cotto easily by points

I don't think paul williams has convincly beat any of the top level guys, yeah he gives a good show and yes he beat margarito but decisioning wright and koing quintana does not make him able to beat cotto. cotto is world class all the way

I would pay to good money to see the Razor carve Williams up. Williams's face would become painfully acquainted with Dzinzurik's jab. :deal

How do you see a potential Williams-Razor tilt? I would be interested to read your take.

well, when your talking about fighting williams, its basically about whether you can handle the workrate, the pace and the volume of punches coming at you. williams has always been found by his opponent. but at the same time his opponents usually wilt under all that pressure and pace and just get outhustled. that is what i meant about cotto. if cotto can use his jab and come behind it effectively, it will go a long way in not allowing williams to dictate the pace of the fight as he would like. if cotto just lets williams do his thing and only occassionally tosses that jab out there, he will get overwhelmed and outpointed just on sheer volume of punches.

the razor's stance, height and reach could damn sure give williams some trouble. again, its all about dictating the tempo of the fight which is best accomplished w/ a stiff jab constantly in williams face with something effective behind it. you can't play off williams or else you'll have 1000 punches thrown at you. and despite the fact that a small % will actually land, you still won't have that much time to breathe. come forward, be the aggressor, and keep a jab in his face and don't let williams get going. i honestly think the razor has the tools to beat williams if he can stick to the right game plan and not williams dictate what goes on.
