WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez is very excited about the biggest fight of his career on September 18 in Las Vegas against Mexican star Rafael Marquez. There will be a lot of history and pride on the line when Lopez steps in there to meet Marquez. He wanted a fight with Marquez since entering the pro ranks after the 2004 Olympics in Athens. There should be a lot of Mexican fans at the MGM Grand who are coming to the event from nearby California. Lopez will have Puerto Rican legend Felix "Tito" Trinidad at his side for the show. He said "Marquez is the man to beat in the featherweight division
and not rivals Yuriorkis GAMBOA or CELESTINO CABALLERO"

It does'nt matter what Lopez says about Gamboa, sooner or later he will see that the man is Gamboa, he is probably saying that to hype the fight between them but he knows that his toughest foe is El Ciclón de Guantánamo, Gamboa. :good

Of course, he would say that because he will face him next.

    But we know better.

From a name value perspective, I can't argue with his reasoning. From a fighter perspective, Marquez is still a hell of a tough out, but with dudes like Gamboa, Caballero, and Chris John hanging around, I don't think anyone can be "the man" yet. Those 4 need a couple fights amongst each other to figure that out.

What the **** Gamboa is the man the guy is still a freaking prospect. John is the man. Caballero is tough nut to crack. Gamboa hasn't fought even a B class opponent so i can't comment about him.

John is the man at the weight. Rafa hasn't done anything at 126, dude only has 2 fights at the weight, and his big win was against Izzy, who hasnt done anything at 126 neither.

People must have memory lost cause Arum is planning to put Lopez to face Chris John after if Lopez beat Marquez. Avoiding the best fighter at featherweight? Laughable.
