That's it right there. The dude was only over 195 in the fight against Adamek, every other fight he comes in well under the weight limit. Whereas with Adamek and Haye, they were near the limit in all of their cruiserweight fights, and are now fighting at 215+. Cruiser seems to be Cunningham's weight class.
please be careful when you say stuff like this, it only applies to fighters who are draining to make weight... ie, not Cunningham.
Why doesn't Cunningham just put seven pounds on his legs then and come in at the CW limit? The only people whose punch resistance improves when they step up in weight are those who were draining down to the lower weight. That clearly doesn't apply to Cunningham.
Don't know about Adamek, but Haye was coming to the ring at 215lbs when he was fighting at CW. Cunningham is a good 20lbs lighter. That's a big difference.
adamek had the brain to beat the monster areola and golota.. adamek had pop at cruiser but now has medium power at heavy. He makes for an exciting heavyweight boxer... I hope the fight with him and grant goes through. seeing cunninghams frame...the extra weight in my mind would be beneficial to him...even with some loss of speed.
So why would he go into cruiserweight fights without an extra seven pounds that you think would only benefit him? Is he not very smart?
Nope. And he got a gift win in his match with Ross. If he's any kind of real man he'll grant Ross a rematch if/when Ross returns to full health.
