Does anyone who spars or hangs around gyms know? How small if without and how small if with gloves.

They might have a chance for a ko if they hit them in the solarplex.

I've always figured that anyone can really knock anyone else out on no more than a fluke perfect shot. Darchinyan over Glenn Johnson? Why not. Malignaggi over Chuvalo? **** happens!

I've seen bantamweights and featherweights lay a beating on acouple heavyweights, but more frequently I've seen middleweights stun or even stop much bigger guys. Of course most of the times these bigger guys aren't as skilled as the smaller ones.

I should specify that I'm talking a regular punch that lands on the jaw, not one that isn't seen coming.

Like Boxed Ears has already said...if you are hit in the right spot on the chin, whether it's a small guy or a big guy...you can go down. I've seen boxers knocked out by guys who are not known to be punchers...but then, a couple bouts down the line...the same boxer taking huge, clean punches on the chin and him walking through them.

Nope, no ko's yet. Yesterday I did see a welterweight unleash a flurry on some huge, bodybuilder newbie who thought he could fight and got stopped cuz he didn't want to go on with a broken nose, but he didn't get dropped. I just think bigger guys should have a bigger pain threshold and take more punishment, but I'm sure they can get KO'D by a hard hitting small guy. Supposedly flyweight legend Jimmy Wylde was knocking out left and right some HW's of his time.

    Depends on the punch.

Didnt John Garfield post a story of him witnessing a BW stopping a HW in the gym?

Small guys and big guys dont get in the ring to fight and VERY rarely do they spar, and even when they spar its with headgear's and the aim is not to knock each other out so it'll be very difficult to answer this question with examples.

Based on my own experience though of sparring cruisers and im 140lb, there were some I could have stopped easy. Then again, I wouldnt exactly call them solid chinned HW's...just beginners.

I wouldnt like to try knock out a seasoned HW, cos I know they will try the same and more the likely, they will succeed before I do :)

Just look at Mike Tyson. The man was only 5'10 and he destroyed almost everyone that he faced.

I see, in that case let's say it's not a 1 in a million punch but just an average crack on the jaw.

Del Boy says he saw a LMW do it. Do you think a LW could do it? What about without gloves (maybe someone saw some street fights)?
