Are you really that concerned with Kirk ****ing Johnson?? Unless you are his cousin...who the hell cares?
You are apparently unfamiliar with my reputation on ESB regarding heavyweights, especially past heavyweights. I am still inclined to think that if Kirk got into good shape and stayed active/motivated, that he could still make some noise in today's division.
Agree. You never know...........Johnson may end up doing something noteworthy, yet. :good He certianly seems to have stalled his career again, yes.
I didn't realize Johnson began a comeback, I thought he was retired. But I just checked boxrec, and sure enough, Johnson's back. Perhaps you should contact the promoter of Johnson's recent comeback bout? Possibly Johnson is under short-term contract to the promoter, with an option to release if Johnson climbs the ratings again. As for Johnson's career, he was almost as big a waste of talent as Corrie Sanders. Like Sanders, Johnson could bang like hell and had lightning quick hands. Sanders and Johnson are also alike in that both lacked the work ethic and drive to live up to their true potential. At his best, Johnson was very dangerous.
The noise he would make would be the loud thud he creates when his outta shape lazy ass is slamming into the mat... if he fights anyone noteworthy that is.
Didn't Johnson knock down Ross Purrity? I'm pretty certain he did. If true, that's an amazing accomplishment. Purrity was nearly impossible to floor. That gives us an idea of how hard Johnson could punch.
:good Thanks mate, and I agree that there are WAY too many Pacweather threads in the general forum these days.
Agreed. The forum is supposed to be about all boxers. How can someone be a genuine boxing fan and not be interested in former contenders like Kirk Johnson?
I'd like to Johnson vs Maskaev II. Both are fighters with the notorious reputation of knocking opponents in to the crowd intensionally.
Not according to Kirk's boxrec he didn't, but that could easily have been missed by boxrec as there are quite a few missing/incorrect pieces of info there. I never saw the fight so I couldn't say for sure. Was it televised?
