This fight would be fine if it wasn't a title eliminator.

 

how could he possibly said that floyd didnt win on the scale when floyd did it in from of the public weighing over the contracted weight?

 

i don't like the idea of a pac-margo fight, to begin with. But if this fight pushes through at 150lbs, this will only be the 2nd time pac will be fighting at a catchweight. take note, only the 2nd time. And quite understandably, pac is small at 154lbs. 147lbs would've been the ideal weight for these two to fight on, but just the same, i don't like this fight. Margo doesn't deserve to have a title shot, much so a fight with pac.

the thought of making this fight wouldn't even have been entertained if only...

1. It wasn't a title fight
2. The fight was at WW with a contracted weight and penalty for violation
3. Violation for the penalty almost doubled JMM purse

Like I said man, the beef with Pac is NOT just catch weights. It is the forcing of skilled champions into catch weights when convenient and title eliminators at catch weights.

Catch weights are a part of boxing. You can't go making boxing records that can never be surpassed using them.

 

i do agree with you. but stating that floyd doesnt cheat scale as a fact is just wrong. :-(

Either way how can you tell a guy he can't way over 150 for a vacant 148-154lb title? Hence the number 154 4 pound difference. He should be allowed to come in at 154lb for a 154lb title period.
