'Fair to good local fight' isn't the same thing as 'bad fight'.

If you think it's a bad fight, as you've stated above, why defend it?

I agree 100% with Ash as far as it's a good local fight.

And that's all it is because Mundine is just another local. He is no different to a Gary Comer or a Ryan Langham.

If you treat it as two local boys having a dig, it's a decent enough fight.

The problem is that it's a ppv when it should be on thurs night fox.

Besides that, it's two local boys in an evenly matched fight as long as one of one of them makes weight.

I wont be paying 1c to watch it, but because Mundine is fighting where he belongs against an evenly matched opponent, I'l have a peep at the club.

Most of us hope Waters does himself proud Jet, and many hope he wins.

Big picture though, is anyone who pays for it, only helps ensure Nasser continues with Mundine picking off fringe dwellers, and never steps up to anything better.

...certainly easy money if they are encouraged and allowed to continue getting away with it.

Lol Mundine continues his record of better being able to put punters asleep than his opponents. I wonder if the pre-fight package will include the "spontaneous" showdown when Waters approached him in the ring? What a build up!!!!

I've got an idea. Give me the money you would spend on ppv, I'll come over and **** in your wallet replacing the money you spent. That way you will still have the 3 hrs of ur life mundine would have wasted and it still costs the same amount....

It's time alright....TIME TO STEP UP!

While people continue to pay to watch Mundine take leisurely strolls, that's all he'll do.

This fight has YAWN written all over it. The big question is will Mandy carry Waters the full 12rds.

Waters has only been stopped once and remember how 'deadly' Mundine looked against Jerez.

...12 rounds of yawn are highly likely to be the outcome Roscoe.

...Paul Kent, you're certainly a man after my own heart:

    They've lost the faith

How long fight fans will continue to be asked to buy in to these fight farces, which in terms of credibility are one small step up from the fight fix, is anyone's guess.

Mundine and Sydney's Ryan Waters will meet in an all-Aussie WBA light middleweight world title eliminator, to be announced on Wednesday.

But most fight fans left the game for good last week, no longer able to muster the enthusiasm for another sting in the pocket like the Green-Briggs fight in Perth.

The the ones who dip into their pockets, often with money they can ill afford, to pay $50to watch a fight on pay-TV that isn't a fight. The undercards are often as bad.

Manny Siaca was pulled out of rehab - yes, rehab - to fight Green after just 11 rounds in four years.

Siaca did all that was expected of him. He lasted a few rounds and then he took the count on his knee to end it in the third.

The crowd was disappointed but, don't worry, Green promised he would make it up to them in his next fight. Enter Paul Briggs.

After Briggs was pronounced D.O.A, Green said Briggs "dogged it" and wouldn't be paid. Yet when asked by a Channel 7 reporter if he would give the money back, Green - who has that right as the promoter - ducked the question. Did the same when the reporter asked again.

So who keeps Briggs' purse? The promoter? Who is Green.

I wouldn't be surprised if Green retires. How many more times can he put the hard hat on and mine our pockets? Who else is left?

Mundine has been paying for it, with his pay-per-view fights not attracting the subscriptions they once did.

But it's better than real work. With each fight he still earns more than the average NRL first grader, so he is happy to continue on his way for less bruises than he'd suffer against the Rabbitohs.

I think it is fair to say that Mr Kent is not impressed by the recent cards offered up by Mr Green and Mr Mundine!
