No sir you are incorrect in the framing of your point. First and foremost the commissions set MINIMUM STANDARDS to obtain a license to fight, these are just that MINIMUMS. These fighters are independant contractors and have the freedom to negotiate as they see fit as long as they agreed upon principles meet the MINIMUM standards set by the commissions. It shouldn't be done because "Floyd asks for it", it should be done because it's the right thing to do, and why the **** wouldn't you do it? I mean what's the ****ing problem with taking drug tests as a professional athlete, and them being the most effective tests available, random, and both fighters taking the exact same amount and in the exact same intervals? Why is that not the most logical thing to do, dead serious how would you arrive at the conclusion either fighter would gain an advantage through this?
Fear is a powerful thing! I don't think Floyd is scared per say....more "scared" about the chances of acutally losing causes us to see this side of Floyd and again....I've NEVER seen this Floyd before.
Yeah by fear I mean fear of losing...which means he, deep down inside, KNOWS Pac will kick his ass in the ring.
The mind is a powerful thing buddy. If Pac believes it's gonna weaken him, well it just might. You know like people who are claustrophobic. You and I both know nothing is wrong with being in a tight space, but these people will panic to a point of passing out. Now your gonna tell me that doing the same thing to people will have the same effects. Put me on a roller coaster and I'll be fine, **** I'll be happy. Put someone with fear of heights on there and they just might have a heart attack. So as you see, people react to different things differently. So if Pac thinks it weakens him, then, like I said, it just might.
When being done as a formality, maybe it is good enough, as has been done in the past. In this case there are clearly more effective tests, and more effective testing procedures, he (PBF) feels (right, wrong, or indifferent) that his opponent (PAC) could be cheating, and believes it to be important to utlize the best available methods tests and testing procedures. As to make it more difficult and less likely that he would cheat, or to actually catch him cheating as a safeguard for himself and his legacy, period. I would do the same thing, and if some of you were honest with yourself you would too. Measures of maintaining the integrity of and fairness in job endeavors is a pretty common idea.
yup...they dont care to listen though.....the IDEA itself should be embrassed by all sports.....now sometimes its not feasible to have...but if the opportunity is their and it is in this situation i dont see why it shouldnt be done.
So you are hinting at and essentially implying that the man has a mental disorder/phobia. I have seen, as can anyone who wants to see, the man give blood and take needles on video via You Tube, he does so calmly, cooly, and with no adverse reaction. If you are "phobic" of anything, you are phobic ALL THE TIME, not selectively, the man is not phobic of needles and he's not phobic of giving blood, period. When was he diagnosed with this phobia, what has he done to treat it, this would constitute him having a legitimate disorder. This excuse just doesn't stand up and doesn't have any merrit in terms of legitimate facts. That being said I feel him he doesn't "like" needles, I don't either, but please spare me the he's phobic stuff. Dawg come on now, you appear to be more sensible than this.
All I'm saying is the mind is a very powerful thing. Michael Jordan played with his North Carolina shorts for "luck"...this made him feel better and gave him confidence. Then if you remember he wore #45 upon coming back from retirement, but soon bought back his number 23 because he didn't feel the same with #45. Did the shorts and his number really effect him? Probably not, but hey he felt like it helped him so he did it. Now you gonna tell me there's a scientific explination for that? I didn't think so. Same principle with Pac. If he feels like it will weaken him, it will probably affect him negatively. And we all know he'd have to be 100% in the ring to beat Floyd.
Ok, so now you say it's a preference, I don't don't dispute that. I'm sure he would prefer not to, and I understand the overall implication you are making and I recognize it as somewhat important. That being said, it's not even in the same universe of "important" as ensuring fairness in arguably the biggest fight of the last 20 years, of making a mega fight that would pay you 40 million dollars, of securing your place amongst the greatest to ever step inside a ring, it's not as important as providing yourself, those you work for, and those that work for you the opportunity to secure a better life for their families, and not to mention clearing your name of any possible suspicion of doping. I mean the reasons to take these tests relative to the reason you give for not taking the test are so much greater that I would think less of him for not taking them for this reason compared to if he were really cheating. So he would rob his fans, his employees, his employers, HIS SELF, and all those with a stake or interest in his success or failure of this crowing achievement, because he "prefers" not to give blood...that's the most selfish, childish, and ridiculous **** I've ever heard, and I swear to God I would respect him less for that, than legitimately cheating.
Ok so Floyd WANTED the drug testing all the way up to a fight...Floyd wanted this no one else. Pac doesn't want to get tested. So they meet halfway with a 14 day cut-off of blood testing, urine testing all the way up to the fight. You do realize USADA stopped testing Mosley 18 days from the fight? When asked about it, they felt that that was enough to ensure no one was cheating. Now you tell me why Floyd can't accept those terms?
Excellent perspective and point of view bro. It's like having a fear of heights, enclosed or confined spaces or even FLYING! Some things folks just have a physical and mental reaction to. Does it hurt them scientifically...:verysad But does it effect their ability to respond, react or function....absolutely. Taking of blood is the same thing for A LOT of people. They feel weak, dizzy, withdrawn and for those who are superstitious like Manny having those feelings can definitly affect performance if it's indeed a mental thing.
