    This is totally wrong.

Pacquiao flat out ducked the Marquez rematch for four full years, because he knew full well he got a very luck decision in the first bout.

He waited until the guy was 34 before he gave him a rematch. Thinking he'd get an easier fight.

Morales was on the slide even in the first Pacquiao fight.

After he beat Pacquiao, he lost his next 4 fights in a row. And Pacquiao didn't start this run.

He lost to Rahman, then Pacquiao, then Pacquiao again, then David Diaz.

I give Pacquiao credit for Barrera. But not Morales. Morales was the better fighter of that rivalry

It would just be like Floyd Mayweather deciding he wanted to rematch Castillo, in 2008, and whupping his ass.............

i remember all the comments flying around this site before each of these fights. . . and MOST people here ate a lot of crow after each one. and its absurd for you to sit here and say it wasnt a shock at how manny dominated cotto. Im not a *******, but at the same time, im not a ****ing hater either. Its quit an accomplishment for him to move up and fight these big guys and take them type of risks, when he could have just stayed at a lower weight classes and reigned supreme there. You act as if the guy hasnt tested himself and that is blatant bull****. The real problem is that you haters sit around all day but hurt that this guy is putting highly rated fighters on their asses and you dont know what to do with it. So you sit and fume and get all flustered until it drives you to the point to make a thread on this site trying to scrutinize and discredit anything in reach. But, in return it makes you look like a jackass because his smallest accomplishment in the ring more then likely outshadows the greatest thing you have ever acheived in your entire miserable life. but hey man, good talk. It was fun and i wish you well on your little escepade here. Take care.

Diaz was on a 7 or 8 win streak at 135 as WBC Champ....DLH lost a VERY Close Split decision to Floyd and then shut out Forbes before Manny dominated him. Hatton was coming off a win over Paulie with Floyd Sr working with him and before that he went 10 rounds with Floyd in a fight Jr himself said was his hardest fight. Cotto was coming off a win over Josh and Jennings before Manny dominated him. Josh was coming off a loss but it was close and some felt he won. Marg just won his last fight but was dominated by Shane the fight before.

The media already looks at Floyd in that light.....as taking on Zab...who lost to Baldo before....Facing Baldo who wasn't ever considreed a good fighter...he avoided Cotto, Marg and other top WW...he decided to face Zab and Mitchell....believe me...It hink its a strong resume but you really want to compare Floyd to Manny with regards to their opponents? It's a losing battle which is why Floyd by most is not considered the Best P4P in boxing.

I get sick of debating boxing with paclanders who haven't even seen any of the fights they're trying to debate

Boxrec debators I call them. Using second hand knowledge they read on Philboxing.com

Hatton was the PFP number 4 fighter in the world when he faced Mayweather. He was at the top of his game, a 2 weight world champion, unbeaten, and had just destroyed Castillo in 4 rounds for his warm up fight.

He was still a huge underdog in that fight. That was the guy at his peak!?

How was that fight close? As in, Hatton won only 1 round in the entire fight, and then got knocked out!?

Mayweather faced De la Hoya years before Pacquiao did, and at his best weight. The guy was linear 154 world champion when he faced Mayweather. The best in the division.

When he faced Pacquiao the guy wasn't ranked in the top 5 of any division, let alone a world champ. He was struggling to even get past Steve Forbes

Pacquiao destroyed 2 ageing names, who were shot.

It would be like Mayweather going out and facing Barrera tomorrow, and saying "haha, I knocked him out in 20 seconds. He took you all the way"

Ok let me explain how the red part is bull****. When Pac "avoided" Floyd he was untested at WW, so Roach decided to put him in what he felt was the less dangerous fight against Cotto at 145lbs....just to test the waters. After Pac's domination of Cotto, he went after Floyd...things didn't work out (I'm not gonna get into whose fault it was) so he went after the toughest WW available at that time in Clottey. I say Clottey was the best WW because Mosley and Berto was scheduled to fight each other already. So there you go with that bull****.

The blue part... Floyd has been a WW for how many years before he fought Mosley...he retired when he knew he would have to face the toughest WW at their prime (Cotto, Margarito and Mosley). Then came back after they beat each other up.

So don't give me that **** about you giving Floyd **** too. I like how you point out Mosley was #1 WW when he fought Floyd, even at age 38. But did you know Hatton was linear champion at LWW when Pac fought him? :hi:

The Oscar fight was at 154. A weight division where Oscar not only could make weight fine, but could also increase his weight by fight-time putting him at 160+
But yes, Oscar was past his prime.

When Pac fought him, Oscar was moving down in weight, didn't look good in his last fight, and had to get down to 147. The big mistake here, other than even attempting to fight at WW again after years, years, of not fighting there...was actually thinking it was better to be 147 walk around weight during camp. He completely killed himself even before the fight started.
    Roach agreed with that.
    Different versions of the fighter.

Hatton: Floyd fought Hatton on his highest level. When Hatton still had that "0." Floyd popped his cherry and KO'd Hatton. That's who pac got. A Post-KO'd version of Ricky Hatton who didn't look good against Lazcano at 140.

At 147, with Floyd, I agree that he didn't need to fight Mitchell, didn't need to fight Zab, and think those two fights were a waist...but he did need to fight Baldomir however because Baldomir was the lineal WW Champ. If Floyd didn't get that title then they would say he wasn't the real Champion.

Margarito was offered to Floyd. That's correct. However, I don't think Cotto was. I don't think Arum was all that willing to give up Cotto if he could play his Margarito card.

Yeah but Floyd fought a fat Marquez and couldn't finish him off. At least when Pac fights people outside their comfort zone, he destroys them :bbb

AHAH! You need to brush up homie. PAC was forcing JMM to do the rematch but if you recall he went ahead and too short money to lose his title to Chris John in indonesia. You must be a weekend boxing fan if you didn't know that. JMM was avoiding PAC for 4 yrs....don't get it twisted.

JMM only took the rematch b/c he needed PAC for his biggest payday. He had a better chance at beating PAC when he was still raw and one demansional but he played his cards and this time they got it right.

JMM was on the slide when he jumped up 2 divisions to face Floyd at 144...or 146. What ever weight floyd's money decided the fight would be at.

Of course EM lost his next 4 fights b/c 2 of them where with Manny! And then he moved up in weight after taking a LOT of punishment from Manny in 3 fights.

Manny can't make anyone take an immediate rematch but at the end of the day that wasy JMM's mistake. I'd favor him in the IMMEDIATE rematch but 4 yrs later PAC was still improving. He lost his chacne b/c he wasn't willing to get back in there with him.

Sorry to say this, but you talk a lot of rubbish.

You sound like a WWF fan, who decided he loved boxing after Manny became an icon, and thinks he can lecture people who actually know about boxing, as he has access to wikipedia…………

David Diaz was quite possibly the worst 135 world champion of the era. The “8 win streak” you speak of was him facing guys like the 10-11 (lost more than he’d won) Christian Lavera, and various other bums. Pacquiao was the first ranked opponent he had even defended against. He was chosen as he was by far the worst world champion in the division. A division that had a lot of very tough world champions at the time.

Hatton, after being KOd by Mayweather had two fights. One against Lazcano, where he nearly got knocked out again, and Paulie M. He was put in with Paulie M, as he had no punch resistance. The guy was completely shot. I was surprised Paulie didn’t knock him out.

Cotto beat Joshua Clottey on a VERY dodgy split decision. Many people thought he lost that fight. Jennings!? As in a hand picked fall guy?

All Pacquiaos done since marquez whupped him is duck Marquez, and face hand picked brawlers, coming off of losses.

Zab Judah may well have been coming off a loss, but he was still one of the top guys in the division. It was just like the Cotto fight with pacquiao. Coming off a loss? Yes. Easy opponent? No

Carlos Baldomir was linear champ, was unbeaten in about 6 years, and beat Joshua Clottey!?

Mayweather ducked Margarito and Cotto as he didn’t fight them? So Manny has ducked Marquez, Mosely, Bradley, Williams, Berto then. As he’s refused to fight any of them over the last year.

Manny and Mayweather’s careers above 130 are very similar. In fact Mayweathers faced better opposition

    Pac ducked Mosley.
Mosley destroyed Margarito then asked for a fight with Pac.

Pac had already entered the WW division when he fought Oscar.
He beat Oscar which would show that he is capable of fighting at WW unless you are admitting Oscar was dead so it doesn't matter?

Instead of fighting Shane, Pac opted for a Post-KO'd Hatton at 140. OK, if he wanted to take that fight, cool. Hatton, was still lineal Champ at 140.
However, why fight a Post-Plastered Cotto instead of Shane who still was without a fight and looking to face Pac?

Like Roach said, Shane is to good.

Difference between Hatton and Shane: Hatton was KTFO by Floyd before Pac fought him. Shane however, KTFO Margarito to claim the #1 spot at WW. And if Pac hadn't ducked Shane, Shane would have had a fight last year.

Clottey: Same Clottey who folded against Margarito? Same Clottey who folded against a Post-Plastered Cotto?

JMM was never KO'd. Hatton and Cotto were. And Oscar was dead going into the fight.

Floyd also fights different now than he had in prior years, specifically his years below 147. Those years were his best years to try to get a fighter out of there. He doesn't do that anymore. He just fights to win now even if it means just cruising to the decision win. Just a different fighter.

Manny refused to face Marquez for years after the first fight.

JMM was his number 2 at 130 for at least 2 years before Manny would face him. He spent his entire time calling Pac out. Manny continually faced pretty lame opposition instead.

The guy took some really poor fights at 130

DLH DOMINATED forbes...easily. He took some shots but it was a complete BLOWOUT! DLH chose Manny as the replacement for Floyd b/c Floyd retired. So that meant Manny had to JUMP up 2 classes where DLH had to drop less than one. He fought Forbes at 150 or 151.

DLH was going in as the favorite and no one really gave Manny a shot. They were clowing DLH b/c they said he was a bully for picking on Manny.

His trainer Nacho said DLH was very well prepared....his nutritionist said DLH was 100%....they said he was going 12 hard rounds and his body was fit and ready at 147. He even came in under weight which in most cases indicates they didn't lose the weight thre wrong way. Guys like Nard and Floyd and Manny do this often b/c they don't "sweat" it out...they take the necesary measures to go about making weight scientifically.

Floyd fought Hatton at 147! Where Hatton PROVED before he didn't belong. At 140 Ricky was a beast and dominating. So it was a surprise with how well Ricky did with floyd at his weight class of 147....but he went down b/c he know he wasn't a true WW.

Floyd didn't have to fight Baldo....sure Baldo got the strap from Zab who took him lightly but there were FAR More lucrative and meaningful fights. Floyd says the belts don't make him nor does he fight for legacy so the Lineal title didn't mean **** to Floyd...Money did and there were bigger money fights out there he passed up on for whatever reason...it was his right. And I don't knock him for taking the road he took.

Why is that part of your argument? You're probably giving Hatton more credit for beating a faded JLC than Manny beating any of his opponents. If Hatton beating JLC is one of your reasons why Floyd's win over Hatton is so bigger than Pacquiao. then why are you criticizing Pacquiao for beating "old and past prime fighters"? Yeah, a warm up fight. David Diaz was also a warm up fight for Pacquiao. You are contradicting yourself.

Floyd fans brag about Floyd beating Oscar at Oscar's weight division. Well ****, why don't you even it out and admit that Pacquiao beat Hatton at Hatton's weight division?
