The problem with a lot of Paclanders is the fact that their knowledge extends to what they read on message boards, and what they can find out via boxrec

The only fighter Arum wanted to put in with mayweather was Margarito. The Cotto fight was never on, as Arum wouldn't risk him.

Find me any example of Cotto calling Mayweather out? It just never happened.

Shane Mosely is world famous for ducking Floyd mayweather. The only reason the fight happened in 2010 as that's the first time Shane wanted it.

He used to get RIPPED in the media for refusing to fight mayweather. He only became interested when PBF was big money

Pacquiao flat out ducked Shane, as Roach didn't like his style. Roach admits that Shane was too skilled at 147 for him to risk Pacquiao with.

Pacquiao always gets put in with brawlers. Guys who are easy to hit. And kept away from skilled fighters.

    As they suit his strengths

Yes - FMJ has a great resume!

FMJ fans are so elated that he won over BLOATED JMM who never fought over 135lbs! and winning an ULTRA prime Mosley at 38 yrs old.:D

It's very similar to the win of Calzaghe over Bhop and RJJ. The win was in the tail end of Bhop and RJJ's career!

How does it feel when you have to make **** up kid? I wouldn't know b/c I don't have to do that. If you think JMM was looking for the rematch right away you are SORELY mistaken. Just look it up and you'll see who was requestin and pushing for the rematch and who wasn't....who took SHORT money to fight a very unkonwn but good figher in Chris John where he ended up losing.

Compare JMM oppostion to Manny's and you still get a landslide win For Manny...even after their first fight. JMM was one of his fights at 130 but I wouldn't call JMM lame...he's a all time great in Mexico.

I don't give Hatton much credit for beating JLC at all.

I just meant that he had a lot of hype from it.

That win was about his 41st in a row remember. He was just at the top of his game then

Ali said he was in great condition to fight when he fought Larry Holmes.

Holyfield thinks he is still a great fighter and will unify the titles.

Oscar was seen with a Black-eye and Valero said he basically beat the **** out of Oscar in camp and was given the boot.
When was the last time Oscar made WW?
What has history shown us with fighters moving back down in weight, especially that long of a time-frame...and add in what Roach said about Oscar before and after the fight.

You can't sell a fight by saying, "Yeah, I know I suck right now, but I'll give it my best."
NO, you say "I'm in the best shape of my life; I'm going to win; I'm going to KO my opponent."
Your job is to promote the fight to sell.

NO, if you can step up and take the money, take the accolades with fighting and beating Oscar, you can fight the likes of Shane Mosley.

Pac fought Cotto at WW, no?
    Why not Shane?

Yes, Floyd did have to fight Baldomir. Baldomir was lineal Champ. And that's what Floyd and history like. Who is the real Champ. And yes, Floyd's 147 career is a disappointment as well.

Holyfield could have fought Tyson instead of Douglas, but Holyfield fought the Champ, Douglas. This is how it works. You fight the Champ.

It mean something to him then. Now it doesn't. Don't compare Floyd then to now. Different fighter, different mind-set.

Show me anything (other than fan posts on Paclander.com) that says Marquez wasn't doing anything but chasing that rematch hard.

It's just like now. Marquez wants the fight. Pacquiao is facing chumps rather than risk it.

JMM has a worse resume as he's one of the most ducked fighters in the history of boxing.

Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera all refused to fight him for a long time

Manny can fight anyone he wants, and still doesn't

Marquez was always better than Pacquiao. Why Pacquiao just flat our refuses to face him all of the time

Please man, you know Pac would have fought Shane after Cotto if he was available. He would have fought the same Shane that Floyd fought...the difference is he would have destroyed that Shane. And yes the same Clottey that lost to Margarito and Cotto, two guys Floyd retired to avoid...remember?

Pacquiao is still the only one to defeat Hatton at 140. And who else was Pacquiao supposed to face at 140? Hatton was the number one ranked JWW and the only "cash cow" at that weight. I agree that Pacquiao didn't do much at lightweight.

If not "cherrypicking" since moving above 135, it's "steroids." Pacquiao haters just don't stop.

Floyd fought Hatton at 147! Where Hatton PROVED before he didn't belong. At 140 Ricky was a beast and dominating. So it was a surprise with how well Ricky did with floyd at his weight class of 147....but he went down b/c he know he wasn't a true WW

    ==================================================================

    Paclanders, please

Hatton was a two weight world champion when he fought Mayweather. He was unbeaten at both weights, was ranked very highly at both 140 and 147, and was considered mean at both weights.

Beating a peak Hatton at 147 is a heck of a lot tougher, than just matching what Juan Lazcano did at 140

    Stop distorting the truth, please

Pacquiao had about 3 fight dates to face Mosely, before Mayweather faced the guy. Shane turned up at the wild card, offering to face Pacquiao, after he beat De la Hoya. Roach made it pretty clear that they’d never take him as he’s “too good” at 147.

Pacquiao took Cotto over Mosely. Even though Shane was divisional number 1, and Cotto was coming off a big loss basically.

Pac would have never faced Mosely. He only faces brawlers

Ledwaba at 122. Barrera and Marquez back to back at 126. Barrera, Marquez, and Morales at 130. David Diaz at 135. Hatton at 140. Oscar, Cotto, and Clottey at 147.

He's fought some of the best there were to fight.. 135 is the only division where he didn't fight a threat and that was like 3 months after his fight with Marquez at 130 and then he moved right up to 147
