A technical breakdown of Floyd 'Money' Mayweather - What are his weaknesses?

mayweather is a pure boxer, its going to be hard trying to find a bad habbit let alone exploit it.you know the man will adjust and being to operate on his man.mayweather is cool and calm under pressure and hes is smarter then all the fighters he has been in the ring with not mention more athletic and god gifted not talent, but god gifted theres a big difference.you are not going to out box him at all, best thing is to go for broke and hope to crack him clean.

you not going to walk him down or run him over, dont chase him because he can run faster then you.best thing is work behind the jab, watch the pull counters though lol.hell hes had 41 fights just mix up some casillio1, with some oscar and shane.then that might do it, but it aint gone be easy.

 

manny is not a good inside fighter, and his angle advantages of being a southpaw are gone on the inside. manny is very space sensitive and needs proper distance in order to do his work. Smothering his punches by stepping into closer ranges and fighting on the inside can be useful.

Floyd like every other fight is moar vulnerable to southpaws, but he throws a great right hand and left hook. Those are the two best punches against a southpaw. Floyd has the best right hand in the business of boxing right now. $ actually knows how to take away punches. The same can't be said for manny.

People like to say Floyd has trouble with southpaws, but he ended up dominating them in his fights with them. It's not like he had the results manny did against a counter-puncher, Marquez.

511/12 = 43, which is only 3 moar punches than Floyd's average of 40. Marquez got away with throwing a Mayweather volume of punches.

Floyd is more athletic with better defense than Marquez, so he won't be forced to throw combos unless he wants to let em go. He can get away in time instead of being forced to fight back.

Yes, everything Floyd does it calculated and near-perfect, but that is definitely an opportunity to take it to him if there is one.

Now Pac on the other hand.
Has been knocked out twice.
It looked like he cried like a baby.

 

Too cagey, very low workrate. Doesn't put punches together. No KO power. Chinney. Scared to get hit.

 

HE proved he has a solid chin when he took those bombs Mosley (harder hitter in the division) threw at him and came right back to kick Shane's ass.

His style is impeccable, his defense impregnable, he's just ferocious, he want's your heart, he wants to eat your children... all praise be to allah!!!!!

 

I agree with most of this, but the problem is that there is no one around to take advantage of it.

The only person I see beating Mayweather is a long rangey volume puncher who must also be tall so that he can at least have some assurance of not getting hit constantly.

Pac, though he has a good chance of landing a great shot, is going to pay for real estate. Williams and Margo, IMHO, are the most interesting. Margo due to his chin, but that is suspect now.

Good analysis, but we may never know.

 

Floyd is weak in the power dept....I think he is vulnerable early because he is studying more and jabbing less...it seems as the fight goes on he gets stronger..but mos def weak early

has excellent footwork...footwork imo is part of the reason he is a level above other fighters...he can take a "fight" and turn it into a "chessmatch" ....

 

when he shoots the LEad str8 right hand. a fighter thats quick enough could close the distance with a short hook and put him on his ass

 

Perhaps power? I think Floyd holds back because of the brittle hands. Probably explains his low workrate as well, but he makes his punches count. Anyway, there's a cure for Mayweather's weakness. It's my avy.

 

I just don't buy this being peddled that Floyd has a solid chin. I think it is fair at best and poor at worst. If anything, Mosley Round 2 showed this. I don't know why people see what happened in that fight as proving he could take a punch. The first shot that rocked him was not flush and the second one that nearly put him on his ass was no worse than the kind Margarito was taking all night before Shane finally put him to sleep.

He is near technically perfect and a phenomenal boxer but let's not go crazy here.
