the whole 160 talk again was a combo of arum's desire to get a mexican fighter in cowboy's stadium combined w/ pav saying he was willing to work w/ a nutritionist AND IF said nutrutionist said he could make 160 safely, then they would talk about it. that whole jcc jr stuff was all predicated on IF this nutritionist said it was feesible.

but i guess to the question, it seems that they will be told by this nutritionist what he should fight at. i'd like to see him at 168.

Hopkins called Pavlik out after the Williams fight fell through, and Jermain Taylor insisted on 166 for their rematch.

No fighter has ever moved up to fight Pavlik, and no fighter has ever moved down, unless you count Hopkins at 170, and BHop chose that weight, not Kelly.

 

Kelly has stated that he would fight Bute. (I know this for a fact.)

KELLY (not Top Rank or Cameron) is willing to fight anybody they put in front of him. He's a fighter with a fighter's mentality.

You obviously don't get that there is a business side to this and things don't happen for a variety of reasons. One thing I can ensure is that Kelly IS NOT afraid to get in the ring with anyone.

 

I'd be amazed if his team put him in with Dawson - I don't think he has a chance in that one. If he does fight at 175 then Cloud would not only be a great fight but it would tell us if Pavlik can be successful at 168 or 175. I don't like his chances against the best guys at Super Middle though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him fight Angulo - he's exactly the kind of fighter I'd expect Pavlik to look good against. His come-forward aggresive style would play into Pavliks hands - but it would be fun to watch.

Funny how he mentions everyone who's not looking to fight his fighter but completely ignores the one man who's been looking to fight Kelly for the last year or so.

Bute was available just a few weeks ago. How convenient that team Pavlik waited for Bute to announce his next fight before they started calling everybody out.

Bute's next fight is a mandatory. He didn't "make his next fight." He has to fight Brinkley, or the IBF will strip him. Of course, you already knew that. Outside of Canada, and really hardcore boxing fans, Lucian Bute is Lucian who?

True -- and there's about 800 rematch clauses in the Dawson/Pascal contract. Jack's list really sounded like the old Arum trick: Throw out a shotgun blast of names, and see what generates buzz.

 

At this point I'd be happy with Pavlik fighting anyone. He needs to get his groove back. I just think it's a little ridiculous for his team to make a statement like the one on boxingsc****.com like if Kelly was still calling the shots.

He's not.

 

I loved Pavlik a few years ago..But he needs to get rid of Jack Loew..Does anyone agree??????
