    That's not really enough to bank on. It's known there was a coexistence with Jews, Christians, and Muslims in the Iberian until the Reconquista, though there is some Moorish heritage. Even then, you could make the argument that those Spanish people are Scandanavian decent from the Visigoths who mixed with those of Greek, Phoenician, and Roman decent. Now the Romans were ruled by Etruscans who are known to come from western Turkey. Hmm.:huh

    Martinez is a Latino, which isnt a race as someone stated earlier you have White,Indian,Black and a miz of White,Indian which is Mestizo. 85% of Mexico is Mestizo now are you gonna claim all of the Mexican greats as 1/2 white guys? Martinez speaks Spanish is from a South American country therefore he is a Latino fighter. Martinez actually has a common look among Chicanos that i know, if he walked around in Southern Cali people would just assume he is a light complected Chicano.

    Yes, Martinez speaks Spanish. He is Spanish and Spanish is a white man's tongue.

    I am sure some of the great Mexican fighters had Spanish blood as well as indio blood coursing through their veins. Whether they did or not is immaterial to me. I am simply talking about Martinez.

    Just like, by your own estimation, a large percentage of Mexicans are Mestizos.

    And what is a Mestizo??? Well, according to Princeton University, a mestizo is:

    "term that was used in the Spanish Empire and Portuguese Empire in Latin America to refer to people of mixed European and Amerindian ancestry."

    Sergio Martinez, however, is not an Amerindian or a Mestizo. He is simply a Spaniard born in Argentina. :deal

    Why are you questioning that fact?

    People from Italy and Portugal are white as well, if it need be said (unless they happen to be of African or Asian or other non-native descent)...

    What up, brother? Would I consider Chavez and Sal Sanchez, one of my all-time fave fighters incidentally, part white? :huh

    I don't know enough about them to hazard a guess. Are either mestizos?? If they are, then I would have no choice but to classify them as "part white."
