Put it this way, Ouma from the VM fight wins a UD. Prime for prime I think McKart was the better man.

No way in hell Bob Arum allows Kelly Pavlik within a 20 mile radius of a ring with Chad Dawson. You guys thought the Martinez fight was bad, Pavlik would be going home in a box if he fought Dawson.

I agree. Chad Dawson is likely to completely work Pavlik over...and Dawson isn't even really a draw, so I don't see this fight happening.

Like Boo said, I think Loew is just using an old Arum trick. He's just throwing a bunch of names against a wall and seeing what sticks(well, creates a buzz). I think the fact that Angulo had an impressive 1rst round tko recently, and Cloud is fighting next weekend and Dawson the weekend after that is kind of indicative that that's what Loew is doing.

Jack Leow mentioned Angulo. Gary Shaw said he would be happy to make Pavlik/Angulo.

HBO has given Angulo a big push. In spite of the Cintron loss his star is on the rise, and he racked up 4 straight KO's since that loss. Pavlik is still young, but many people suspect he might be on the backside of his career.

In his last fight Angulo rehydrated to 166 pounds. Pavlik is reportedly walking around lighter than he was on fight night against Martinez.

On a good night Kelly Pavlik knocks opponents senseless. (84% KO ratio)

On a good night Alfredo Angulo knocks opponents senseless. (80% KO ratio)

Pavlik/Angulo would produce some serious fireworks for however long it lasted.

Think back to the Pavlik/Miranda fight. HBO had a plan. Build Miranda up by feeding Pavlik to him, and then make Taylor/Miranda. Martinez expressed interest in fighting Angulo, so it would not surprise me if HBO decides to build Angulo up by feeding Pavlik to him. They tried that **** once. They may very well try it again.

I would enjoy seeing Dawson turn Pavlik into a bloody mess. Pavlik better stick to straight-forward brawler types.

Forget 175 for now. He should face Martinez at 160 or take a fight with a lesser opponent at 168, just to see how confortable he is at that weight.

If Kelly indeed isn't done at 160 the only honorable course of action is to try and take his belts back from Sergio.

Pavliks management is so dumb that they would probably put him in there with Dawson. He had no business fighting Sergio or Hopkins. Thats why he probably will get his ass whipped from pillar to post by Dawson. If he had been managed correctly he would have 0 L's and all of his confidence.

I wonder if Double Jab Jack has any idea that he is looked at as one of the biggest jokes in boxing?

Dawson? Get real. Pavlik has absolutely zero business even thinking about a fight with Chad Dawson. Zero. This is silliness.

Bute would end Kelly's career. There is still the novelty that he was weight drained for Martinez and that Kelly could do damage in the higher weight classes. If he fights Bute that all ends.

If he hadn't happened to ride the coattails of a middleweight champion with HBO exposure, he would not have the insulating layer of buying his own bull**** that he currently has.

The trainer with Billy Lyell and Harry Joe Yorgey as his stable standouts wouldn't have much opportunity to grow a big head. :yep

all hopkins had to do was beat said mw champ w hbo exposure and then kelly woulda got the whoopin hopkins put on him a couple years early, right? if taylor is really that bad then what was he doing in such close fights w/ hopkins? whether you think he won or not...taylor was a bit more than that to give hopkins that tough of a fight twice.

I never mentioned Taylor (who actually made a fan of me over the last few years). :huh

I was talking about Pavlik. He was a MW champ with HBO exposure, and became Loew's meal ticket and claim to fame. Really, Kelly would have achieved success with almost anybody else in his corner.
