Is Floyd ducking Pac the same as Pac ducking Marquez?

Pacquiao one-punched Ricky Hatton into another stratosphere. What makes you think Marquez is going to contend with that monster at 140lbs? Marquez won't be anywhere near as fast as he was when they last fought at 130lbs.

Pac KOed Ricky with what he called the hardest punch he's ever landed. I doubt he lands that on Marquez (someone who's defense looks like Mayweathers compared to Hattons)

Marquez has only lost once since that fight, and that was to Floyd. I'm naturally going to have to settle with Margarito, but Marquez is a score that Manny just has to settle. He's going to get infinite flak for not fighting Marquez if he chooses to not fight him by the end of his career. I'm sure they could make a deal to fight at 140.

Because he clearly has no challenges left if he can't fight Mayweather (or Marquez IMO)

Mayweather has to fight someone challenging, or at least someone we expect to challenge him since the Marquez fight. I've even said it, he was able to choose fights before, now he can't. And he started off right by fighting Mosley.

His next options are Pac, Williams, or Martinez that's it.

I think he's making a point at all the people that say Manny kills every opponent he faces. He's saying, "if he kills everyone, why should he face anyone? He has nothing left to prove, right?"

    That's what I think he's saying, anyway.

Im just curious as to why anyone thinks that fight will be competitive? Margo has been complete crap since he was busted and is fighting at a catchweight. How could anyone think he has a chance in hell. I was already suckered into an arum scam by paying for clottey/pac, wont make the same mistake twice.

    Eze has a point.

Manny Pacquiao can retire at this point and can take comfort in knowing that he can't be held accountable for the super fight not being made. He can look back fondly on his career and say that he took on all comers, and beat some of the greatest fighters of the last 10 years through a multitude of different weight-classes.

...Someone else has a little work to do.

    It is.

Just like Mayweather, if he plans to only fight guys we know he's going to dominate then he can **** off as well.

Since the Marquez fight. I've picked against Pac once. The DLH fight. And once I saw how much DLH weighed in the ring. I reversed my prediction.

marquez is my favorite boxer, but comon eze as boxing fans we know when the end is near, Im not saying jmm is done maybe 1-2 good fights left in him, as much as I believe he won the 2nd fight with pac, and as much as I want to see jmm beat pac, if it were to happen at 140lbs, most of us know jmm would not win, im sure he can go the distance, but he will take punishment. pac is just on another level now, marquez was made for 135lbs and putting on more weight would be bad for him, hey like I said marquez is my favorite boxer , I would love to see him take out pac & mayweather and call it quits, but we all know in the sport of boxing most boxers have to be put in their place to know when its over.

I don't quite understand your logic. If he has been fighting tomato cans I would agree with you that he should retire completely. But his last two fights were against top P4P fighters. Despite the age/weight disparity he still managed to generate at least 1 million PPV sales in both fights respectively. So how can one say or suggest he's hurting the sport? I would encourage him to fight more than once a year but if not then one mega fight annually isn't exactly hurting anyone. Don't know about you but I'd rather see one big fight per year than two mediocre or worse matches.

    Then Pac should retire.

All his fans feel no one challenges him. He has no reason to fight then.
