Washed up Kalule and Benitez hurt ankle. Moore had 11 fights. He was the joke. Duran should get no credit for that. Take away Duran's points for Davey having dental surgery also that week.

hey I think Duran is overrated as well. I have him in my top 30....some people say i'm ridiculous and he should be top 15....which is ****en insanely ridiculous.

Castro is way better than Kinchen, sorry.

not really. Castro was terrible. His experience got him some places, but head to head Kinchen would have edged him out as would have Shuler. And I see your overrated Jones. You cannot compare Jones to the fab 4 since Jones never took on a great in his prime like they did. And the fact he fought Ruiz when Lennox was there shows he took the easy road.

    I voted for Hearns.

I don't think that Leonard resume is overrated.

And YES Jones has a resume that stacks up to the fab 4 in my eyes..

Hearns will always be a sentimental favorite, with all my family being from Detroit. Defeating Cuevas, Benitez, Duran, Shuler, Kinchen, Leonard in '89, and Hill. A legitimate 5 weight division champion. Produced the most exciting fights amongst the Fab 4. H2H nightmare to any living creature weighing 147-154 pounds.

...at the same time, while I don't feel he should be defined by his defeats, Hagler and Leonard still can take great pride in owning his scalp. I also think it's a knock against him that despite fighting in 5 weight divisions, he failed to own any of them, undisputed, except maybe 154.

Leonard had avenged his only significant defeat in emphatic fashion, took the undefeated records of Benitez and Hearns in dramatic fashion, and really proved himself to be amongst the greatest Welterweights to ever live. While his longevity leaves much to be desired, his record at 147 and comeback against Hagler rank among some of the best.

So I voted SRL as the best of the Fab 4, and that he is not overrated, in the slightest. In fact, I've always maintained the belief that between Duran's loyal fanbase, controversy with the Hagler and second Hearns fight, and backlash over his media popularity has resulted in him becoming rather underrated.

    Duran bitches.

Duran duran duran duran duran duran.

in his prime unbeatable, past 30 years old had a win over ray leonard, cuevas, davey moore all at higher weight classes.

    Duran.

Leonard has a quality>quantity style resume, but when i think of duran's LW dominance coupled with what the man did post-prime, very incredible.

hell, he arguably beat camacho when he was what? 40 something? or some ridiculous ****?

    2-1 (1) vs. Duran
    1-0-1 (1) vs. Hearns
    1-0 vs. Hagler

    and 1-0 (1) vs. Benitez

... 5-1-1 (2) vs. these great fighters. :deal

    Duran.

Beat a prime Ray Leonard after cementing his place in the top 3 lightweights of all time. Then he wins a LMW title off Davey Moore, and beat Iran Barkley at middleweight.

Duran never knocked out a great. He beat one great whom he did not stop or come close to stopping who was inexperienced. Then this same fighter outclassed him in the rematch. I agree with those who say Duran is overrated. The resume does not match top 10 ATG. He should have beaten more greats to get that. Beating a mediocre lightweight bunch does not make him top 10 ATG

Davey Moore had 11 fights and Duran beat him. And this was at the same weight and a year and a half after Benitez outclassed Duran, and a year before Hearns demolished him. Barkley was beaten by everyone. The only claim to fame Barkley has is beating Hearns. But if you eliminate the Hearns fight, Barkley is average..

I respected Jones and thought he could have been one the best fighters in history, but he handpicked and didn't fight the best competition when he could have. It will hurt his legacy. When he started to fight tougher guys he started to lose, yet that was when he got older. But his legacy will never be what the fab 4 was. They fought them all which just on that makes them more iconic. Jones was not iconic like they were.
