    Back to reality.

Byrd was a truly awesome fighter. He did not have power and so he does not get the free passes that those with the big punches get (even if they do **** all for 100 years and **** your mother and daughter).

Unfortunately for him, Klitschko was also around.

Yeah the implications of that are going to make many a vagina bleed. I know.

That was a badass left hook, and a clean KD, but the other KD was just Byrd's legs tangling in retreat(no punch), and the stoppage was unwarranted, because the round was over, and Byrd had his wits about him, just not his defense.
But like I said, he couldve recovered and found a Byrdlike way to win. Just imo.

Byrd never fought the same way after he lost to Ike. He was more defensive and timid. He actually mixed it up with Ike until the left hand landed. Byrd never took punches as well after this stoppage either. I have seen every fight Chris ever had and even some before he went pro. The Ike fight changed him.

May be ruined is too strong of a word. "CHANGED" might be more accurate and not all of the change was for the better.

Hmm it was a tko not a ko he may have even finished the round if the ref didnt stop it, also the seconk knock down was more of a trip thena knock down. He got countered while trying to counter himself off the ropes.. Great punch by ike but the guy went on to win 2 titles.. not exactly a ruining performance.. especially with byrd on his feet at the end.

people who say that Byrd has no power, I think are missing a huge point: Byrd was a blown up middle, so of course his power would not translate to the bigs against these dudes who would outweigh him by 20+ lbs.

I still think Ibeabuchi would have beaten Lewis...Unbelievable endurance, great power in both hands and from any angle, granite chin, sneaky speed, laser accuracy, enough skill to deal with good boxers (see Byrd), tall enough to deal with the big guys, strong as they come...Lewis may have been a footnote had Ibeabuchi stopped raping prostitutes...

And I mean no disrespect to Lewis, he was a great champion....

Like Evander, Lewis, wlad, Toney, etc...

The normal body can add somewhere around 6 pounds of muscle a year. The guys that jump multiple weight classes in short periods of time are either fatter (see JMM) or using roids (see pac)...It's one of the reasons todays boxers are routinely winning titles in multiple weight classes....It's also the reason Floyd assumes Pac is on roids (his built in excuse too)...It's become the norm in this sport...

Flatlander saying dumb **** like always. The dumbest might be the fact that he thinks Byrd would beat Tyson ahahahahahaha

Byrd always had a good chin in his career even with his great defence and wasnt ruined until he got old and Wlad beat the living **** outta him in there second fight.

How old is Ike these days?

Isn't he out of prison yet?

Hell, if Briggs and Holy are still getting title shots, maybe Ike could make a comeback!
