Soto was taken off the Pacquiao-Marquez II undercard, and replaced with Roman Montano as David Diaz' opponent, so that Diaz would be preserved for Pac , a few months after Pac's split decision (robbery) win over JMM.

But it wasn't Arum that insitgated the removal of Soto from the card. It was Pac that had told Arum, that he didn;t want to fight Soto, so Arum protected Pac's interests.
