Before you all jump, finish reading the thread.

    1. Abraham beat H Eastman on points who in his next fight gets KOd by Miranda

    2. He gets taken the distance by S Taylor who as a WW had been blasted out by Mosely, and had been blasted out by R Williams in a LMW Commonwealth title fight in the UK. In Taylors fight before AA he was KOd and in his next fight straight after AA he was KOd again, yet went the distance with AA.

    3. He gets taken the distance by Jantuah who had been KOd previous, by an average puncher.
Just a point but in all of Jantuahs points losses, AAs was overall the closest on the scorecards.

    4. Wins a decision over undefeated Miranda, where Miranda had 5 points deducted. Abraham would still have been a majority points winner. But when Miranda has stepped up against other punchers he has been stopped, and was by Abraham the 2nd time they fought, after having now suffered a KO defeat.
Abraham did show immense bravery fighting with broken jaw.

    5. Abraham KOd Taylor, with a great shot, but Taylor was coming off a KO loss at the time

So with these points in mind, particularly point 2, do you think Abrahams power is overated?

AA is mostly just a volume puncher. Gets it done like Juan Diaz. Volume and aggression, ya dig?

Some of those wins where he didn't get a KO it was mostly due to him just basically be bored in the ring and not really stepping on the gas, and also his last couple of fights at 160 he was having trouble making weight. So, no he has devastating one punch power.

I'm only joking, Booradley will probably be here shortly. He's an infamous AA detractor. Yes, other people have questioned AA's power. I think when you look at his low output and how many times he starches people off of one clean shot or two, you see his power is enormous. I don't see a way of getting around that. It doesn't mean people don't put too much stock in his power alone, which I'm sure they do. I do take under consideration that AA had a lot of trouble making weight during his title reign at 160, and some guys that went the distance with him probably wouldn't have if he wasn't drained. But records are littered with big punchers not stopping some opponents you'd assume they would. It doesn't mean much. :conf

    Good fight pictures but

Elcock had been blasted out in a round before and wobbled on occasions and been KOd in quicker time since. AA took the longest to KO him.

Ayala, first time he had been KOd, but has been taken out in a round since, but AA may have softend him up

Taylor, coming off a KO defeat

Miranda 2, only 2 journeyman fights past his first KO defeat, and been KOd since

Gevor had been stopped before by Konecny in 8 rounds.

    Good pics

I think his power is good. 1 shot KO power in both hands.

Like anything else on ESB, it might be exaggerated. Things like him being able to KO a whale(only 1 guy could do that, and we all know who that is.)

    His power is legit.

And? Bobby Crabtree was kayo'd in the first round by a nobody, immediately before George Foreman TKO'd him in six in 1987. Crabtree had been stopped 13 other times before that. Foreman also went the distance with Everett Martin, who had twice been stopped by nobodies. Foreman knocked out Terry Sorrell in round two, though Sorrell had been previously stopped in one by a journeyman with a losing record. Foreman knocked out Scott LeDoux in round three. Scott had previously been stopped in two by a journeyman with a losing record. Foreman knocked out Tim Anderson in four. Anderson had been knocked out five times before that, four of those times, by nobodies, and quicker than Big George. Luis Faustino Pires was stopped by George in the fifth, though had previously been stopped by Oscar Bonavena in the fourth. We can do this all day with big punchers, but really, it doesn't mean that much.
