JMM has aged great. He's lost a bit of hand and footspeed in the last few years, but I think he actually fights more effective now than he did 5 or 6 years ago. He's gotten more aggressive and doesnt start so slow.

He takes more punches than he used to certainly, but I'll be damned if he isnt an exciting and very skilled fighter to watch. Still the man to beat at 135

Diaz isn't fighting a bad fight.. It's just that JMM even at his age is still one sharp counter punching SOB!

Really? His best chance at actually winning is fighting like he did the first time. Either knock or get knocked out.

Did Diaz change his style? He's not swarming like he usually does.

    Round 8

Marquez popping his jab, sliding his lead foot to the left, and bringing the lead right downstairs. Diaz is simply running circles around Marquez looking for a spot. Diaz can't get much more than a stray jab off on Marquez without getting brutally countered, with the older man's superior but slower footwork and timing. Diaz throws a backwards 1-2 (a right and then a jab) but falls a bit short. Marquez throws a hook to the body and a right hand to the maw. Diaz lays on the outside and keeps his gloves up. Marquez steps in and blasts away with a four punch combo. Diaz barely evades a huge overhand right as he circles left. Diaz lands a hook as they exchange blows. Big 1-2 from Marquez blocked.

    10-9 Marquez

    79-73 Marquez through 8

    6-2 JMM

Diaz's corner still telling him to keep jabbing, he needs to go all out

Boxed Ears, what do you think of this one: for a moment I thought Nacho told JMM "Don't stop bleeding, please!" instead of "Don't stop leading, please!" :patsch

Im not sure if Marquez let Diaz hit him flush if he could be knocked out
