I watched his fights on Youtube in preparation for this fight so I'm more up-to-speed than most on here.
I am going to say i have 'cause i've seen him fight as far back as denis balandin in russia, and knew then he'd be a world champ. Pirog is a future p4p'er. His skill level is too high not to be. He really impressed manny stewart tonight and stunned the crowd in attendance. He knew he got the KO before the crowd even reacted. Pretty gangsta!
Pirog got hit with a very clean shot at the end of the 3rd round , his chin seems solid . Jacobs on the other hand tried to make it look like he was planning to get up , I doubt it ... at 5 sec still on your back with the ref looking closely into your eyes ? Not gonna fool anybody , he was done .
agree with you this was my first time watching pirog and a like a lot him. that was the best fight in all the night
kinda pisses me off cause it happened the same with the whole Lebedev thing. ive been watching Lebedev ever since his comeback, now noobies saw his fight with Alexeev, you get all these band wagoners riding him, lol....
Who cares? Shouldn't you be happy he is getting fans? Boxers need all the fans they can get. Or is the new rule if you haven't watched a fighter siince his first amateur bout then you can't be a fan?
Well y'know, everyone loves a winner and an underdog, especially when they're lesser known. See; Pre-Holt Bradley, Devon Alexander, Tarvoris Cloud, and every other Lower-Marquee fighter.
it was kinda weird when lampley and steward were giving jacobs props when he was on his back in la la land, there was a 2.5 second pause where you were like... uhhh sorry dudes your boy is KTFO, next PPV you might wanna take your geritol-n-****--- now would be a good time to get off his jock fellas. It was Danny Jacobs that Pirog beat. The same Danny Jacobs who had trouble with Micheal Walker's pressure, and got buzzed by Ishe Smith. Jacobs fought an incredibly stupid fight, and still won 3 out of 4 rounds. He got caught by a shot that would not even get a blink from Pavlik. Martinez would never be in the position Jacobs was in, so he wouldn't even get caught by something like that. The same shot might buzz PDub, but it sure as hell wouldn't take him out. Pirog is probably a threat to Sylvester, but he certainly isn't a threat to any of the other titlists, or top middleweights. In addition, he is already 30 years old. He does not have much time to spend on the type of developmental fights he needs.
