I agree that at this point , he's not ready...but he's only 21 so don't rush the kid with a beast like Pirog...Jacobs was 23 yrs old and most of us saw what he did to Jacobs...

True. Lemuiex throws mostly powerpunches with one punch power, while Pirog breaks fighters down by using different angles. Pirog would be a nightmare for Lemieux. Pirog would make him miss and attack him using angles and avoiding the right, like Sanchez did on Lil Red Lopez or a prime Fernando Vargas used to do.

Agreed. Lemieux has that murderous punching power though.

I'm not that big on Lemieux but do think this would be a good HBO matchup. Probably not a great idea for DL, though. He's too slow and ponderous on his feet. He's there to be outboxed.

Lemieux is certainly misunderstood on the evidence of what is being said in this thread, but what indicates to you that anyone is going to devastate Pirog?

Because pirog is being hyped now. David is very well schooled throws short snappy shots and has excellent timing. Him and Pirog would be a barnstormer.

Lemieux is still too green if I was Lemieux's handlers I'd give him a nother year of solid veterans before challenging for a title unless he can somehow get a title shot with Sylvester or Zbik.

Jesus ****ing crying Christ on a broken crutch!! Pirog beat Jacobs, not Haglar, not Monzon, not Hopkins. It wasn't even a Kelly Pavlik or Jermain Taylor level opponent. It was the guy who had trouble with Micheal Walker and Ishe Smith.
