there is hope but i think this time, it is like barrera in the rematch or morales3. a good closing but not much credit for pac in the end.
Pacquiao would most likely stop Marquez if the fight is contested anywhere north of 135lbs. It won't be a boring uneventful 12 rounds like the Barrera return, closer to the Morales rubber match I feel.
of course. marquez is a warrior and would probably go out of his shield on this one. not to bash on barrera but i think MAB just want to finish the fight on his feet for the rematch. i just equate the credit that pac would get on this 3rd fight.
There are also two different mentalities coming into the fights. Barrera came in trying to get rid of the shadows of the beating he got in the first fight while Marquez would come in not wanting to get screwed over (in his mind) in the previous fight he thought he won.
I always found it to be a disgrace when people tried to criticize Barrera for not "going for it" in his third fight with Manny Pacquiao. He'd only been entertaining crowds since 1989, giving us two of the best fights of all time. He didn't owe anybody anything, and Manny was at the height of his powers at that time. Marquez is no longer on Pacquiao's level.
Indeed. Marquez has only gotten worse since their fight in 2007, whereas Pacquiao has gone from strength to strength. I'd be really intrigued to hear people's reasons for thinking that a third fight at 140lbs would be competitive or interesting. Pacquiao would have devastated Juan Diaz last night.
i understand MAB's situation. i think people had this criticism based on his rivalry with morales. morales fans will say he was a greater warrior because he go out fighting. but it doesn't take from MAB and what he has done through out his whole career.
pacquiao doesnt owe marquez or anybody else anything.. everybody is saying that marquez deserves his payday and that's nonsense... just like floyd and other boxers made their name marquez should make his own name.. every fighter get's paid differently according to his drawing power.. this is not social security where pacquiao, floyd or any other fighter has to help another one get paid.... :hat
Only way this would be remotely even is to pump JM with all the steroids he could handle and I would still put the house on MP.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y9LKHcFLow&feature=related[/ame] 1:11 Old Gatti, Old Marquez, Old Mosley, Old dela hoya?
at this point in time...pac would still scrape and claw to beat marquez.... it certainly wouldn't look scientific like Floyd Mayweather jr did. real talk.
old gatti? you're buggin son. old delahoya? that's the guy you're man pac fought. old mosley? the cat that roach didn't want for pac?...marquez?...the dude that pac had to grab whatever mustard he had to beat?... gtfoutta here
I don't want to see it for the 3rd time cause that rubber match will be at a catchweight of 144 pounds cause Marquez is not the same fighter he once was when he fought Pacquiao in the rematch at 130 pounds. Marquez need to prove to everyone by facing Khan next to see if he still is the elite fighter. Cause beating Khan will for sure to determine if he still has what it takes to beat Pacquiao.
pac is a welterweight now not a lightweight, so what should he do fight someone smaller now like floyd to make himself look better and to take no risk. yes those fights were close with JMM back then but not too many people can beat JMM at lightweight but Pac is beyond that now in weight so would you people quit yammering and saying he's ducking marquez
