Hopkins at heavyweight?

I saw bhop in vegas, he is easily weighing 200-210 right now. Lean as hell to. Lookout david haye.....i think bhop is comin for yo ass!

 

But will B-Hop have the stamina to blow out 50 candles on his birthday cake by then?

Hopkins has heavyweight bone structure.

 

i dont see the point to be honest and if he does move up why go at haye straight away haye is a bigger guy but he also carries speed so weres bhops advantage gone

Because Hop will see the flaws in the game of Haye and see him as a great opportunity for a title. He knows he won't beat a Klitschko but Haye? That's going to be possible for him, he's got the power to hurt Haye (Haye's chin is wobbly) and he'll feel his defense will avoid the majority of Haye's attacks.

 

im sorry but hopkins isnt heavy handed at light heavy so at heavy even against a not great chin like haye its not a factor and one or two bombs from haye and its good night even for the defensive genious that is hopkins

Carl Thompson wasn't a heavy handed cruiserweight. Point is, if you touch Haye, he's hurt. Hopkins will touch Haye and due to timing, he'll likely hurt him.

I say he's got a great chance against Haye, provided the weight gain up to 200-205lbs is similar to his weight gain from 160 to 175. He put on lean muscle mass and it rejuvenated him, I think due to his 6'1 size and the fact that he gains lean muscle mass, he'll do OK at 205.

 

Hopkins wont be afraid of trading in close because he sees punches coming as good as any.

That little sneaky lead right also might make Haye stand up and look around.

He doesnt have to knock Haye out - just get enough respect from him that Haye doesnt just bull rush him.

 

no he wasent but he was a cruiser as was haye at the time , you see just weighing +200 make oficially make you a heavy weight but in reality he would be a blown up middle-weight , he dosent hit hard at all and his cardio wont hold up with the extra muscle he already takes breathers in his recent fights at light heavy the extra oxygen consumption of the extra muscle mass would make him useless after 5-6 rounds if he made it that far

 

I just don't think you know or understand the frailty of Haye and why Hopkins will rank himself against him. You can talk about Hopkins being a blown up fighter but look at Haye and the top-heavy nature of his body. If he was campaigning at lower weights, everyone would think he was blown up.

Haye is show muscle, not go muscle.
