That sentence you quoted actually has nothing to do with Marquez moving up 2 divisions to fight Mayweather. Read it again.

Yes, but he's not using the Mayweather-Marquez fight in particular to do so. Do you not see that?

Let's try this again. Stylistically, Marquez gave Pacquaio fits. Stylistically, Mayweather and Marquez have similarities. Many of the things that Marquez did to give Pacquiao problems, Mayweather does better. Yes, Mayweather is bigger than JMM. However, we could clearly see in that fight that Mayweather has a better left hook and straight right than Marquez, we can clearly see that Mayweather is the better counterpuncher, we can clearly see that Mayweather is the smarter fighter. There is no sane person that could've watched that fight and said that Marquez was the technically superior fighter. Most people knew this before that fight even happened, but that fight put it on full display. Do you understand the point I was making now?

    it was an alright win

after a 2 year layoff against the number 3 p4p

the guy who arguable beat pac twice

yeh it wasnt his natural weight... but marquez has been chasing pac and needs to step up at the heavier weights to fight him now

plus floyd didnt use his superior size to outmuscle marquez, instead he put on a boxing clinic

whatever Marquez does Floyd does better. and im not arguing with that. but making that fight as reference to your point is immaterial.
