Chad Dawson Eyes Lucian Bute, Cloud, Calzaghe Too

would Lucian Bute actually fight Dawson?

 

Agree that he needs to go to the next level but Bute will not take the fight so soon. He got plenty to do at his weight class and Dawson is not the kind of fighter u want to face except if it means big bucks (not the case right now). Clazaghe is still a big name. Who else anyway? Not many options really

 

In every interviews I've read from Dawson and his promoters. They always sound like they are hugely underrating Jean Pascal.

Don't get me wrong. Logic says there is a 90% chance Dawson will win a comfortable decision. But if he gets sloppy. He could get caught by a big punch from Pascal.

 

Not at 175lbs.

 

Thing with Dawson is he is too skilled, physically gifted and strong minded, a real threat, but not enough of a star to bring enough money to the table which would entice the SMW top names to face him.

For that same reason the other LHW champions will avoid him like the plague. The only reason not to is if a similar talent becomes mandatory.

Maybe an impressive victory over Pascal would help.

After Pascal, he should try Bute, Pavlik, PW, Cloud, Shumenov, Brahmer. Then move on to his mandatory in Erdei in case he can't land any of those and start considering moving on to CW and HW real soon.

 

Never look past an opponent Dawson. I do think he can/will beat Pascal, but Pascal is 3 times more dangerous than 2xTarver!

 

Pascal is dangerous but I don't see him winning he's too wild for a slick boxer such as Dawson. I love both as my current location says "my boys Dawson & Pascal" lol. Pascal has a chance though and should test Dawson because he's young and has more atleticism than Tarver & Johnson. Believe it or not people we're only like a week away. I'm being spoiled as a fan this month. My other boy Devon Alexander fights Kotelnik THIS WEEK then Pascal/Dawson fight I think next week. Great month for me:happy.

EDIT: Just checked boxscene not too long ago and Pascal/Dawson is next week.

 

He beats Cloud and Bute comfortably and probably calzaghe too now due to inactivity. In his prime though, I think Calzaghe would take a comfortable ud. Joe will not return now cos a dawson fight would put his '0' in serious jeopardy. IMO Pascal is the toughest fight for him out there

 

I think Dawson will take it, but should be a good fight. Interested to see what Dawson will be up to after this fight, have been watching him for a while and becoming a big fan.

 

The Pascal fight is probably the most important of Dawsons career as he could be propelled to the true elite level by putting on a good show. His record is still a little bit suspect to a lot of people as the only top level victory over an opponent who wasn't way past their best is Adamek, which was quite a while back now. Obviously it isn't Chads fault that the division has been stale over the past couple of years and Hopkins and Calzaghe never got in the ring with him, but with 2 very good, young, North American titlists now up at the top of the tree in Pascal and Cloud he has the chance to justify being a top 5 pound for pound fighter and one of HBO's top men.

Not sure Don King will let Cloud near Dawson at this point. Cloud already had the opportunity to fight Dawson once before and wanted no part of that fight.

 

If a guy that froch beat (pascal) beats dawson i will be suprised

 

cloud wouldnt even accept hbo's bid to put him on a dawson undercard to build up the fight. bad mangement, or doesnt want a piece of dawson.
