WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is having trouble getting an opponent to step up for his next fight. Speaking with Golzka, Klitschko says a proposal for a fight with Tomasz Adamek was turned down, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is not returning calls and former champion Nikolai Valuev wants too much money to make the fight happen. Vitali is most interested in the "Russian Giant" Valuev. There are issue with making the fight happen. Vitali says Valuev's co-promoter Don King is standing in the way of the fight with his numerous additional demands during the negotiations.

I think that's a bit premature indeed... I even think if (when) he beats Grant, he will fight a Klit next. He has shown more balls than any other contender up till now in the division imo.
But if he turned down the fight... you never know!

i think adamek turned down the fight because he wants a perfect preparation, thats why he is fighting grant. he need the experience to fight a way taller men.

so after the grant fight i'm completly sure adamek will fight either vitali or wladimir in the states

Not surprised most fighters are probably just waiting for Vitali to retire and pick up an easy vacant belt

I wouldn't say he is running. He said himself quite recently he needs some more fights in HW before facing Klitschkos, and, as he was never big mouth, I hope he meant exactly what he said. Especially that his excuse to fight Grant was that it would prepare him to fight taller opponent like Klitschkos (although I do not think Grant will be useful for that, but that is another thing).

If Adamek turns it down after Grant then I will agree that he is running.

I'm perfectly content with Adamek taking his time at HW. He's not the one going around making claims that he's not backing up and I eagerly anticipate his upcoming bouts because he's always entertaining, he's doing it the old-school way, one step at a time until he's ready. It'll be a damn shame though if he doesn't fight a Klitschko before they, or he, retires but I have a feeling a fight between Adamek and Wlad will happen in the next two years if by no other virtue then Mandatory status.

Nope, Adamek vs. Mormeck is next for Nov in NJ (if Adamek beats Grant of course) according to an interview Mormeck gave to boxing insider

Klits nearly 40 maybe he should just retire while hes ahead and forget about the likes of valuev and haye who are just hopeless, he cant force them into the ring and if they want to turn down their biggest pay days then its not his problem!!
