You gotta respect Dawson man , he's just picking off the competition @75 with no BS , he's just looking to land all the big fights , while im not a massive fan of his style , as a boxing fan you have to respect this guy , thats not to dis his ability , he is very technically sound and has a lot of heart too , i think the Calzaghe that battered Jones would own Dawson , but thats not a big issue , Kudos to Chad Dawson man !!!! BTW i think he'd dominate Bute up at 75 :deal
I'm a Dawson fan, and it's nice that Bad Chad likes to talk tough, but his contract with Pascal has a two-way rematch clause.
too bad the only thing calzaghe is eying is a big fat pile of fishscale Bute won't take the fight, and neither will Cloud.
Dawson and Cloud might both lose their fights. Never been impressed too much by either guy. One has skills and no heart the other has heart and no skills.
I really don't think that's true. Dawson and his people are talking tougher in order to raise his profile, because his natural personality really doesn't lend itself to big sales. He needs to find a voice through which he can market himself. By all accounts he has maintained his usual discipline in training, which is the most important thing. And this: "I feel like I have all the advantages," Dawson said. "But he's fighting in his hometown, and we know we have to go into the fight with the mindset we have to knock him out. I usually don't say that, but in a situation like this, you can't leave anything to chance." Seems to me he knows what he's up against. Still, it wouldn't shock me if Pascal catches him. This is a world class fight where the challenger is fighting at home. Nice to see and props to Dawson.
Did you see Dawson/Johnson I? Chad fought with too much heart and nearly lost. He needs to box intelligently, not try to please fans who are too limited to appreciate more than one style of fighting.
Man, Lampley put it perfectly. Dawson was getting hit with some nice shots from johnson, and fought his a** off. Its not his style. But tell me how he has no heart? Hes been put thru a little adversity in his career, but has swept thru his competition so far. His adversity was: Knocked down by harding, came back and whooped him the rest of the fight. Gets rocked by adamek, and wins the next two rounds. Gets hit by johnson, and insteead of boxing and moving which he did easily and often the first 6 of 8 rounds, stays in the pocket and traded blows with glencoffe. Not really sure where you can find no heart in there. Each time he fought back. Is it possible to have good heart and an excellent defense? Or does the excellent defense part make people who cannot truely appreciate the defense believe he has no heart? Well i know where i stand
dawson lacks heart and got knocked down by a jab from 3 defeat harding who has a 25% ko ratio , he also went life and death with 13 defeat c-level gatekeeper glen johnson :rofl dawson is about to have his suspected china chin smashed to smitherines by a B-level carl froch victim :vonnecunt
I dont consider that heart, i consider it fighting dumb. Maybe it came out wrong though because any boxer who gets in the ring and tries to win has heart. Maybe i should have said killer instinct. He has all the tools but wont put overmatched fighters away. I havent seen him KO someone in a while. The fighters he fought dont exactly get KO'd all the time though.
I'm glad you pointed this out. Dawson hasn't had a stoppage in his last 4 fights. However, Dawson's last 4 fights have all been against Johnson and Tarver. Those aren't exactly easy guys to stop.
