They're Mexican. Obviously, a lot of times you can look at a Latino/Hispanic and recognize that they look more white, or more indigenous native-american. In this case, I think someone like Sanchez would have more Spanish blood than native-american. Skin color isn't the only indication, though, and sometimes it can be a mistake to bank off of that since a person could get more reccessive genes and their dominant DNA could just make them look more Spanish. The reality is that they could mostly be native-American. The blending of these races is an ethnicity, though. It's arguably a race too, but we could argue all day over the difference and semantics between Latino and Hispanic. Even if one may look more white, and be more white, I don't see how you look at him as being "part-white" that's what makes them Mexican, Puerto Rican, or whatever... And at the end of the day that's what they would recognize themselves as. Never white, or Caucasian.

Ummm...... if they are a mestizo and are part indio and part Spanish-- remember, Spaniards are.... and I will say it again since it apparently hasn't sunk in..... white-- how could they not be part-white irrespective of how they recognize themselves??? :-(

Or can a person "be more white" without being "part-white?"

That has to be one of the most ridiculous/confounding assertions I have ever encountered here at ESB.

Martinez and de la Hoya could pass as European. Spanish, Italian, maybe even French. The difference is one is known to be of 100% European ancestry.

    :-(

I don't have to claim Martinez. The man himself said he is Spanish and not of indigenuos or mestizo blood. :deal

    Deal with it.

I am beginning to think you're pissed because he is a white man.
