big weight fighters get a lot more money , this is regarding the average uk fighter, not floyd mayweather, yet good fights are fought at all sizes, i enjoyed the bantam prizefighter better than the previose heavy ones, and i know prize money is equal in that event, but the average uk promoter pays a lot more to the heavys on his show' whats the facination here, should ,for arguments sake all local area and english, plus british titles should there not be3 somekind of an equal pay rule, i think this is a case in other forms of employment.

More people want to see them fight, it's pretty simple. Supply and demand at work!

ive seen some pretty bad ones, jesus some get more for a six 2s thats a predictable maul, than a good lightweight gets in a thrilling ten rounder' i bet they wouldent be paid the most on average, if it was pay by quality and endeaver.

You don't get paid what you deserve..you get paid what you negotiate! Same with most jobs in the world.

Lot of people here saying that people would prefer to see HWs fight. I beg to differ. The amount of people over the past few years that have tore into the British HW division for being terribly boring(until the last 12 months) was unbelievable. When Harrison, Sprott, Williams and Skelton were fighting each other every time a fight was made within the four there was uproar on boxing forums. This was with good reason as most, if not all, of the fights, that Frank Warren claimed would bring World HW boxing back to Britain, were absolutely terrible!

A lot of people don't like the heavyweights but the general public and TV do. There's no secret as to why they are paid more. It's supply and demand not rocket science.

At the end of the day the best heavyweight is the best boxer in the world (usually!)

If there was no weight classifications then a heavyweight would be champ.

Its a "best boxer in the world" type-a-ting!

Humans have an inbuilt fascination with it - so do sponsors! ;)

They just create more intrest. A lot of people who arent really into boxing that much don't like watching the little midgets.

Years ago when I was a casual fan I was only interested in watching guys Holyfield, Lewis and Tyson, I always bought the fights on sky box office. The little guys didn't interest me as I never heard or saw much about them, it's no wonder the Heavys were getting huge paydays.

That was until I turned over to eurosport one day and Barrera Morales 1 was on, I never even knew who these guys were but I never enjoyed a fight so much, then I took more interest in the lower weights.
