Let me start off by saying that I'm not a hater of Wladimir or Vitali, they both seem like nice fellas and are very good boxers who no current heavyweight can beat.

But with that being said I can't for the life of me understand why anyone is a fan of either man, its not that their are just boring its that they hold all these physical advantages over their opponents and still stink up the building by pawing with a jab and clinching and just have an ugly style of fighting all together.

I can appreciate a heavyweight with skills who chooses to fight at a distance like Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis but the Klitschko's way of doing it is just a turn off altogether. And with Holmes and Lennox, if they had an obviously smaller/inferior fighter in front of them they would know how to capitalize on getting them out of there whereas the Klits just either refuse or don't know how to capitalize on knocking their man out.

So with all that being said why in the world would anybody be a fan of these two men?

    They always come in shape.
    They will fight anyone
They are cleaning out the division
Both guys are respectful in and out of the ring
Both have very good punching power
Wlad is a very good technical fighter and has amazing athleticism for his size. He is the best super heavy skill wise I have ever seen.

    Just a few reasons

I agree on all accounts but it still doesn't cut it for me due to the fact that they still don't capitalize fully on their abilities.

    - Both sport some of the highest KO percentages of all time.
    - Both are skilled tacticians with good and different techniques
    - Both are always in shape and always prepared, especially later in their careers
    - Both will fight anyone and have fought anyone, including Vitali taking on Lennox Lewis with just two weeks notice.
    - Both attempt to make the fights fans want to see, such as Peter vs Wlad or Haye vs Either.

Plenty of good reasons already given, but the Lewis-Vitali fight made me a Vitali fan, then I started watching Wlad and his coming back from quite brutal losses to become the best boxer in the world made a big impression.

Considering one has the highest KO percentage of all time for HW fighters with 30 or more fights and the other is in the Top 10 - how are they supposed to capitalise further?

I think most people are pissed off that Wlad doesn't just run into punches, despite knowing he has a bad chin and protecting it with tactics.

    :lol::lol::lol:

What is your opinion on Wlad's super cautious style, where he's afraid to let his hands go vs feather-fisted midgets like "Fat" Eddie Chambers? Do you love that too?

Yeah, fancy that -a boxer who actually uses defense in his gameplan rather than take every shot on the chin and never take a title like Tua, huh?

You also hate Floyd Mayweather Jr and Bernard Hopkins due to being defensively orientated, making sure they win fights?

Howbout that fight with Margarito, you know, where Cotto got knocked the **** out because he didn't know how to defend himself, couldn't set the distance and couldn't control the fight.

Yeah, let's hate someone for being dominant with a high KO percentage solely cause they don't give other fighters the opportunity.

you wanna see defense watch whitaker or mayweather

running halfway across the ring when your opponent throws a punch is not defense:deal

He keeps opponents at range because of his superior height and reach. It's like two jousters fighting, where one has a pole two foot longer than the other. Not really skill to me, but whatever floats your boat.

I'm not a big fan of Mayweather and Hopkins, but they use speed, technique, skill, ring smarts, footwork, head movement etc in there defence, rather than just keeping your arm extended so your opponent cannot physically reach you. Great to watch...:dead

That has to be taken into context due to the fact that by the time they "TKO" their opponent that you're cringing that it finally happened rather than being glad it happened cause they both jab/potshot their way to getting a stoppage.

Yes but they use their skills and different techniques to completely stink the joint up against very inferior opposition despite all the physical advantages they hold.
    True, no disputing that.

Yeah they have beaten all comers but their way of doing it just makes any real boxing fan cringe due to all the advantages they hold.

Yeah but everyone is smart enough to know by now that it will be a stink fest come fight night.
