According to an article I just read, if Adamek beats Grant in August, then he may have a fight with Vitali lining up for him in and around November.

As of now Vitali is slated to fight Shannon Briggs... which he would most likely drop, to fight Adamek instead, on likely an HBO PPV.

Adameks fight is comming up not a whole month from now, so I guess we will know soon for sure.

Would, and it makes perfect sense as well, as nobody would be interested in the Briggs fight, while the Adamek fight has the potential to be a big draw. On both continents.

Adamek fighting Grant was just a hint of things to come in his future, his team apparently knew that a fight with either Klitschko was just around the corner, and they picked the opponent wisely in preperation for it.

I thought Wladmir has a December date lined up. Since Vitali is supposed to fight in October, wouldn't a clash with Wlad in December be more likely?

Especially with Tua out of contention as a possible opponent, maybe the Klitschkoes will step it up and make Adamek an offer.

Adamek has been doing well at Heavy, but can he handle a fighter as big as Vitali, he's giving away 6 inches in height.

It's a good move for both guys. In Adamek's eyes Vitali is slowing down and he's got a good chance to out box him with lateral movement. In Vitali's eyes its a good payday given Adamek's popularity and another solid name.

Instead of Vitali going ahead with the Briggs fight in October, the Adamek fight could also be made only a month later........so Vitali wouldn't have but one more month to wait, and for a more current and legit contender in Adamek.........

After Grant, Adamek would still have three months to rest then start to prepare.

Very doable and a great choice for Vitali.........But I read that Adamek was just offered a fight with Vitali and he refused. If Adamek thinks a win over Grant is what deems him suddenly ready for Vitali Klitschko, he'll soon realize that height is all they have in common..........LOL

    Yes.

Even if the fight gets pushed back to December. That gives him 4 months. Take a look at the frequency that Adamek fights at, and then come back.

Adamek still needs this Grant fight for himself as well.. not only to test the waters with a much bigger fighter. He has been working on his core, and doing a lot of strength training trying to increase his power a bit, all while of course maintaining his speed the best he can. This Grant fight will be a good fight to test the waters with the new improvements, as well as to get a feel of what it is like fighting a much bigger fighter with long arms.

Grant and Vitali may be worlds apart, but you can count on Grant trying to keep Adamek away with his jab, which will give him good practice at breaking through it.

I think he will be ready for a title shot after this fight. He could have fought another eliminator after, but I think this Grant fight will be enough, and the few months after that to become fully acclimated at his new weight.

I'd be interested if the fight took place at MSG. I doubt Vitali would be interested in fighting in front of a bunch of rabid Poles in NYC though.

haha, actually that might be a good venue for him as well.

There is a huge Ukrainian/Russian population right in Brighton Beach, or "Little Odessa".

Also lots of tourists flying into the "Capitol of the World" who might sign up as well. I think it would be a decent venue for both if properly marketed.

Very true. Pretty much any fighter will have a contingent of fans in nyc. Something tells me that since HBO is rumored to be involved, that the fight would take place in the U.S., and there's no reason for it to be held anywhere but MSG.

Bad move for Adamek, a fight with Haye would be better. It would be aired on HBO probably, and he has a better chance of beating Haye than he does either Klitschko.
