Tough fight to call. Martinez isnt the best boxer but hes a tough man and he wont stop coming at you. Im thinking if it goes 12 Burns, if its a ko Martinez but im waiting till closer for a proper prediction.
Also anyone that hasnt seen it check out Martinezs last fight against Mungia (sp?)Proper good fight and the third round is round of the year so far imo

i hope burns but 99% sure he gets taken apart. he hasn't beaten anyone beyond british level and just isn't ready.

Burns can do it- Martinez is a less nimble mirror image. He makes a lot of mistakes and will be out boxed!!

I have only seen bits and bobs of Martinez, but what i have seen is levels above Burns, i would love ricky to do this, but i see him getting stopped early, as pointed out earlier in the thread, he simply aint ready for world level and does not have that power to keep Martinez off him.

Well Rob SUPRISE SUPRISE i disagree with you again,i wish you could come and watch Burns spar because all of his sparring partners can't TAKE HIM APART,in fact there calling off from sparring him.Rob imo some of his sparring partners are equally as good as Martinez and Burns is looking great in with them

People often look awesome in sparring, 14oz gloves, headgear, no pressure and let me assure you none of burns' sparring partners will be remotely close to Martinez' level, he is genuine world class. I hope Ricky can put on a good show, but basing your optimism on sparring rather than hard facts is foolish.

I think that robpalmer135 just likes coming on here and pissing off the famous Boxing names that come on this forum i.e. Billy Nelson, Frankie Gavin and Tony Bellew.

He must get a kick out of it and tell all his mates.

In this paricular instance, he is just being realistic surely? Do you really think that wins over a shot to **** Gomez and a laboured win over yousef al Hamdi :patsch should gain you a shot at a world strap? This is a stroke of genius on the promoters part, but i sincerley hope Ricky is being paid well, because he is miles out of his depth in this one.

What, because he hs differing opinions?

I want Burns to win. Martinez is massively hyped, lets not forget he sturggled against Cook until Nickys dodgy punch resistance failed him. Martinez will win though.

I was at that fight and dont remember him struggling, i remember him systematically breaking down cookies body and frankly making him look pretty ordinary.

There is a bit of a pattern though, its everytime, he has never once agreed with them and he looks like he gets a kick out of pissing them off.

I dont disagree with everything they say but certainly dont agree with everything they say if you get me.

who are his sparring partners that are as good as a world title holder?

Like I said Billy I hope your right but history shows us you need to be tested more before your ready for world level. I really rate Burns just wish he wen't for the European title, defended it a few times then went for the world honours. I do give Ricky a chance as I think he is physically stronger than Martinez.

    Hope I am wrong.

none of my mates have a clue who ricky burns is so....

and thats complete bull****. I am jsut be realistic. Am i not allowed to give my hoenst opinion on a fighter if they post on here.

I rate Bellew, but want to see him step up. I really rate Gavin but worry about his conditioning. I rate Ricky Burns but think a world title is to soon. Thats not slagging anyone off.

Nobody outside the Uk with an objective look would give Burns a shot. I havent heard anyone give a reason (Billy Nelson doesnt count) as to why Burns has the style to beat Martinez.
