There seems to be a devide of opinion.

Some think Mosley aged overnight vs floyd. Other's think Floyd just outclassed.

The fact Mosley is fighting quite soon after vs Mora. If Mora beats him, does it discredit Money's Victory, that Mosley was and is Shot?

    Thoughts?

yes i think it would discredit floyd's win because in truth it would confirm mosley is 'shot'. However, I fully expect shane to dominate mora and put himself back into title contention again. To be honest at his age i would rather shane went into bigger fights right away rather than mess about with tune ups like this

It wouldn't do it any good and I'm picking Mora on a decision.

Look at Sergio's advantages coming in - Bigger, Taller, Longer Reach, Youth and a shitty awkward style. Doesn't add up to this being a Mosley masterclass.

Mora is a tricky match up for anyone. Does everyone forget that he beat Forrest as well?

He caught Forrest injured, ill prepared and unmotivated. Although I'm picking Sergio to win against Mosley, it doesn't relate to that win, which was reversed by Vernon with ease.

I know, Mora's record is pretty good. He just isn't very active.

He was the best fighter on the contender by some distande nd he beat forrest.

Mosley can be out boxed, and i think he will.

+ i don't mean to hate, but i think he was realy bad against Floyd, more due to his age catching up with him finally.

The fact that floyd dominated him so mush easier than he beat Castillo, Haton and Corley. Despite Mosley being bigger and better than all those 3 by some distance, makes me think it was more Mosley being Done, than floyd being exceptional that night.

If Mosley easilly beats Mora, i'll happily alter my opinion

I'm a huge Mosley fan, but I'm with you on this. Mora is pretty good at using his range and that's always been Shanes achilles heel. Barring a stupid, risky exchange, the style favors Mora.

Yes and no in my opinion, it says more about shane than the ability of floyd or mora. If he is aging and lessening in skill he is still going to get beat but people with a lower skill level than floyd, so it doesnt take anythign away from floyd's victory. Though shane does want a rematch with Mayweather

What better way to secure a Mayweather rematch than by looking shot against Mora? He may be on to something here...

If Mosley looks bad...it's either two things. Mosley is shot and the Margarito victory was one of those last big performances every boxer has left in them, or...Mayweather took a lot out of Mosley by beating him for 11 rounds, and landed some very good punches...almost knocking his head back at will.

If Mosley looks good and beats Mora (or looks good and loses)...I'd say this would enhance Mayweather's victory.

I think you're a goddamn dummy for starting a thread like this...

Did Marquez get old overnight? No. Nor did Shane Mosley

They both just fought Floyd Mayweather

Really this fight is horrible and the fact that a legend like Shane Mosley agreed to fight a bum that got his ass whipped by a guy named Alvin(Ayala) is a true disgrace to the sport.

Floyd, Shane, Mora, and Pac can go **** themselves. I want Williams-Martinez 2

I think it would......For obvious reasons but Floyd should get full credit for his dominating performance over Shane. It is what it is. .....Floyd stepped the **** up which EVERYONE asked and did it against Shane who was considered the best at the time. I hate it when folks try to over analyze a win or lose and make excuses for the outcome.

There is the overtraining factor as well. Age is a huge suspected factor, but overtraining definitely contributed having two training camps consecutively, and a combination of the two makes the performance that much worse and the cause more difficult to isolate. A loss against Mora would suggest he is past it and probably imply that he simply isn't the same fighter that he was years ago, which doesn't take a genius to speculate.

His sharpness and discipline of skill increased with Naz in training against Margarito, and then after a year of inactivity and two training camps at the age of 38, lost to a prime young great.

I don't think people are making excuses, people speculated age, inactivity, and overtraining might be a factor BEFORE the fight was made, and then Floyd walked him down. He didn't outsmart him, out-think him, out-fight him, he just walked him down and threw speedy one twos at a virtually motionless mosley. I don't discredit Floyd's crazy abilities as a fighter, but what he displayed was an ease that came from his opponent's physical submission, not imposed mastery.
