In all fairness, 4 years later at age 42 Holmes did go on to dominate a peak Ray Mercer & fight competitively against peak Holyfield, hence showing he had something left in the tank, unlike Tyson ('02), Louis, Ali & Leonard in those examples.

This is just a bull**** troll thread, look at the bias poll options ffs and the TS posts are full of disgraceful ignorance.
In my serious classic forum topic on the subject posted in January, which included a fair poll, the results were 32-25 in favour of Tyson.

I sense rage in your post.

a fighter is no longer in their prime when they change trainers? is that sound logic?

your saying that since McCall lost to Douglas and McCall beat lewis, tyson wins.:huh I wrote nothing as ridiculous as this.

my point was lewis would present a similar style matchup for tyson as buster douglas did. long jab hard right hand, keeping tyson from setting up power punches. in 1990 douglas proved he could do it. lewis proved he could do it in their 2002 fight. knowing this why would you favor tyson?

lennox lewis was in his prime when beaten by oliver mcall. He lost because he was careless and neither lewis or mcCall seen the right hand that closed the show. did you see the rematch?

I like how boxing revisionist choose fighters career peaks according to win/loss records using a variety of excuses.

prime can be a tricky thing, too often though fighters are said to be in their prime while winning then when they lose suddenly they are out of their prime. ex tyson

A fighters prime is very subjective, lets not pretend its fact.
