And before the inevitable "of course there has been you ******" comments start, I am not and have never claimed to be an MMA expert, I'm a "noob" with regard to the sport, but one who is interested in learning more so any constructive responses would be much appreciated. I know of great wrestlers in MMA (eg Henderson), great Muay Thai kickboxers (eg Shogun), and even a great karate practitioner (Machida), but I personally do not know of any great taekwondo artist.
Nobody who really had a specialty in it, as in they based their game on it, comes to mind. A lot of guys have done it, but when they go into training camp they certainly don't bring a TKD coach.
anderson silva started out in taekwondo and is a black belt then moved to mauy thai, i could be wrong tho!
TKD is the worst of the main MA to move into MMA, i mean the "fights" are a joke and in no way get you ready for how tough a real fight is.
I know that but Cro Cop does not say he specialises in TKD, I know a lot about TKD....i used to be a black belt in my teens.
Im sure there is always an exception the case, but not many. Boxing is even better than TKD for the simple face it is full contact.
