seriously Pirogs destroys Pavlik and I think Pirog is being over hyped.

Pavlik cannt deal with latteral movement......so you put him in with the guy with the best latteral movement in the division LOL

I'm favouring Pirog, Pavlik will have trouble connecting as he doesn't have the fastest hands and Pirog has good fundamentals.

Excellent match-up. Pavlik would be in though, but it's not an un-winnable fight for him. Pirog is slick, but he does like to go in and fight, comes forward a lot. It's not a situation where Pavlik's gonna have to go forward and track a guy down all the time like he had to do with Martinez anf BHop, and also Pirog is not blindingly fast. And it's a nice crossroads fight, that's always interesting. Great opportunity for both and it should be a fun fight, let's hope it happens.

I though Pavlik was moving up to super middle?

Do it! Risky fight for Pirog, but at 30, there isn't much time to deal with, nor too much to learn from tune-ups, he looked relaxed and ready. Pavlik became quite underrated because the consensus is that "he got embarassed by a light middleweight" when in reality he simply got his ass kicked by an outstanding athlete, **** happens in sweet science. Therefore, based on Pirog's "lack of experience" and Pavlik who's "not that good", this will go down for the average fan as an okay match-up when in fact this is a genuine MW superfight with Kelly being the betting favorite based on physical tools and experience.

Good news for Pirog of 17 fights is that he looked like a complete fighter with good athletic abilities and a style to trouble Pavlik which balances things out quite well. His adaptability is just as good as Martinez' and neutralizes the jab just as well, but throws meaner, harder counters in return and fights mostly at short distance. Whereas Martinez kept the 1st half at bay and stayed outside of the danger zone before figuring Pavlik's game out and beat him up at close, I see Pirog entering the danger zone right away and stay in the pocket for the whole fight, which is a risk that could go either way. Pavlik's physical strength is not to be overlooked, that's what made him the MW champ in the first place, but if Dmitry can overcome the opening rounds relatively unmarked with Kelly's pattern being read, he could become very effective on the inside and lethal with crisp, unexpected, powerful counters. Pavlik therefore needs to make the busy jab work and quicky find the room for the right hand as well, because if he can't, he might end up like Jacobs who never knew what hit him.

Pirog's style may give Pavlik fits. One former overrated fighter facing a currently overrated one. I lean towards Pirog.

That was just damage control, they needed an excuse just like after the Hopkins fight.

Styles make fights, and pavlik has proven that the invincible doubling up of the jab has no effect on anyone with any type of movement. Pirog whoops pavlik.

I'm not a fan of Pavlik but would give him the edge here due to experience and that busy jab setting up big right hands. Pavlik hasn't looked good lately but this looks like a great chance for him to beat a hyped fighter and put himself back in a position to make a big fight with the winner of Williams/Martinez.
