Weights make you slow and tight. They have no business in boxing ask Jeff Lacy. Bodyweight exercises are the only ones you should be doing to be at yout strongest and fittest within the body you will gain nothing by putting mass on and weight.
Jeff lacy doesnt lift weights. He's said this numerous times. Additionally the aspertion that weights make you slow and tight is an old wives tale.
The only reason people say this is because people like yourself, who have no clue whatsoever, go around telling people this incorrect information like it's true...
Explain to me how putting a load of mass on and gaining bulk will make you quick and strong at a higher weight than you should be. They cant even reach there back how are you supposed to even think about throwing a hook. It does not make sense. I want to be quick and strong and what worked for many world champions in the past dont see why I should change it.
Explain to me how lifting weights magically makes you gain weight. Then you can explain to me who you are referring to as "they". I'm guessing body builders and in that case again you have no clue whatsoever.
