I have no idea how people can say Jacobs was leading up until the knockout. He got his ass handed to him in every way possible. His punches were ineffective, and effectiveness is an important part of scoring. Pirog was simply the better man, it was in no way a lucky KO.

How did you have it going into the 5th? 3-1 Pirog? Or 4-0?

I had it 3-1, one round went to Jacobs because Pirog was inactive.

    Freakin' A, Man!:good GREAT post!

Choo Choo Pirog Trains already. When Pavlik KO'ed Jermain Taylor there weren't any Pavlik Trains. He was just some skinny white kid from the boonedocks.

    Whats the difference?:think

FWIW, on Jacobs' chin, as far as I know he was only knocked out once in about 200+ fights, and that was by Shawn Porter.

He'll grow from this, but he'll never be anything more than a beltholder in my opinion, and even then, I'd be surprised.

Danny Jacobs was hyped as one of the next big things fact.
Unfortunately for him the first real step up in class and he came up very very short.
When you come with a big rep and fail obviously you're there to be shot at.

Yet another yank prospect exposed for what he really is, nothing but hype!

Korobov dropped him heavily in their fight on his way to the fight getting stopped.

They need to have second look at that fight or they don't know shite about BOXING. Pirog was ahead.Pirog cut the ring, did some nifty evasive moves was accurate, slipping punches.Landing the harder punches to the head and body and one SHOT buckled JAKE that could have been a KD =10/8 rnd.He was also the aggressor. Jacob's RAN for most of that round.

He has no Chin and he is going nowhere. He was just another Glass Jawed Golden Boy hype job just like Ortiz.

When a black fighter loses, he's finished to the Genral Public and that is the truth. That's what happened when Williams lost to Quintana, everybody on this site said "Williams was done". At the same time Juan Diaz lost to Nate Campbell and everybody said "He would definitely be back". Now Diaz is ****in finished and Williams is atleast Top 15 P4P. Another example when Joe Louis lost to Max Schemling and Ray Leonard to Duran. Daniel Jacobs will never in their cateogories but those are examples of black fighter's losing and people saying their done.

He was "winning", but you could tell he was doing all he could to survive. He was pulling everything out of his bag of tricks landing more punches, but getting hit.

You are exactly right. Pirog was the better fighter that night and IMHO, any other night they met. The stoppage could be "disputed", but he would have touched the canvas many more times had they let it continue. That was in NO WAY luck.
