Lemieux is no Mayweather for sure. His boxing skills are far from being close even to Pyrog. And the number of rounds he has been boxing doesn't help him to improve on that matter. But Lemieux can destroy anyone with one punch.
David Lemieux is promoted by Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) and they are not going to rush him to someone he's not ready to beat. He's still very young and needs some rounds. They will be patient with him, I can assure you. He's only starting to get a little opposition. I think he will have a least another 2 or 3 fights before they match him up with someone that would represent a threat. He does need to work on his footwork a little more, but so far, those fights are just too short to give him some real experience. I'm really curious to see who's next in line for him! He's scheduled to fight on the Pascal-Dawson undercard august 14th, but they don't have an opponent for him announced yet.
hell of a matchup, i dont think david's people are ready to do that to him he needs to fight someone above the level of elvin ayala first
Exactly. Just because ayala nearly took abraham the distance and 2 years later or whatever lemieux blows him away in a round,it doesn't have as much relevance as you think. Since when has elvin ayala become the standard bearer for rising middlweights. His record, under closer scrutiny leaves a lot to be desired. Lemieux has potential, but he is not ready to be thrown into a title shot or even matched up against contenders,to much to work on which would be exposed at world level.
Yvon Durrelle - Archie Moore Chuvalo - Patterson Gatti - everybody i see Lemieux ending up in this type of catagory of Canadian fighters. Certianly in regards to the excitement factor.
I'd be happy to let Lemeuix be built up for another bit yet, even though he looks amazingly complete for his age.
I don't think that's true, he can box quite well, he can just up the level and put more sting into his punches when he needs to.
Yeah, Bute openly talked about that fight many times. He was behind on points and decided to take chances to win. He got caught, **** happens. That was actually a pretty good fight.
Looks like he won't fight on the undercard of Pascal-Dawson. My guess is the ESPN august 28th card is back in the picture.
