He was always going to be in the shadow of Benn and Eubank, to be fair Joe was controlled by frank warren and his politics. If he had dumped warren sooner he probably of had some more meaningful fights.

It's not Calzaghe's fault. Its down to his promoter who couldnt/wouldnt get him the bigger fights that Calzaghe craved.

Actually I see it the same way to Hopkins. Guy had all the chance to fight top caliber fighters from 160 to 175 throughout the 90s and the best fighter he ever fought was Geln Johnson.

Between Calzaghe and Hopkins, as to whose fault is it that they did not meet earlier, I tend to blame it on Hopkins. Guy is a eral ***** when it comes to negotiating fights.

Strong ownage, its obvious to any unbiased posted Otke's competition was constantly at a higher level than Joe's. Although unbiased posters are rare. For his part Joe was more dominant, less controversal wins, and at the end managed to step up to have a better career.

I can guarantee you though Pugilisticpower wasn't a Calzaghe fan from 2000-2006 because he brought massive disapointment to his fans around this time

Which is why Warren delivered the Glen Johnson fight and Calzaghe called in injured 2-3 times to postpone it. Its why he even wanted to call in sick/injured against Jeff Lacy and his dad had to force him to take the fight

When Glen Johnson fought Clinton Woods for the third time Calzaghe was ringside. He was ringside because he had agreed to fight Johnson, yet Johnson lost and the fight never took place. The fight was screened live on ITV and I saw Calzaghe ringside with my own eyes. That was the LAST TIME a fight between Calzaghe and Johnson was attempted to be made: SEPTEMBER O6.

Why is that nobody ever mentions this when discussing Calzaghe v Johnson? They harp on about Calzaghe pulling out in 2004, but conveniently leave out the facts from 2006.

It is simple: If Johnson had beaten Woods then Calzaghe would have fought him.

If Johnson defeats Cloud maybe Calzaghe will be tempted to comeback and fight him. I believe it would be a legitimate fight for Joe.

People go to all lengths to discredit Calzaghe because they cant except the facts he beat everyone. But they often fail to tell the whole story or even know who some of his opponents were. The mentioned as opponents were all LHWs except Johnson who was a constant loser. Calzaghe was a SMW, so your clutching at straws and not named any potential SMW challengers ie Calzaghes division :patsch.
Mkertchyan and Veit are more accomplished SMWs than someone you may recognise like Dirrell. And Woods who you note to have a better resume lost to Starie who you criticize Calzaghe for beating.:patsch Muppet
With Taylors last 13 opponents they fail to mention he got beat 4 times by 3 of them and 3 of them were smaller fighters.
With Hopkins last 8 fighters 4 of them were against smaller fighters and he lost to Calzaghe .
With Tarvers last 13 fights mentioned he lost 5 of them

    Calzaghe beat top SMWs in
    Eubank
    Reid
    Woodhall
    Mitchell
    Lacy
    Kessler

    As well as contenders like
    Brewer
    Bika
    Sheika
    Manfredo
    Veit (twice)
    Mkertchyan

Calzaghes last 6 fights with the results are better than the above you mention.
I notice you didnt note Calzaghes last few fights

Jones - Ring top 10 rated LHW
    Hopkins - Ring LHW champ
Kessler - #1 SMW undefeated WBC WBA champ
Manfredo - Ring top 10 rated SMW
Bika - Ring top 10 rated SMW
Lacy - Ring rated SMW undefeated IBF champ

I could go in slaughter your thread, but im bored with repeating myself to ignorant fools

Ive mentioned this many times, these fools seem to selectively forget Johnson lost and blew his chance when fighting Woods for the 3rd time and forget just how many times Johnson has lost and to who

Your an ignorant fool. Dirrell would have shut Veit out. Veit is a nobody. Most of the fighters on Joe's resume are nobodies.

Calzaghe was a fighter with alot of injuries, and pulled out injured against Johnson on more than 1 occasion, but lets not pretend he was scared of Johnson. He pulled out 3 times against Sheika and against Lacy and look what happend in both those fights. Remember Johnson lost against Sheika who Calzaghe beat and many other lesser fighters.
Also as said before when Calzaghe was ringside with a view to fighting Johnson, Johnson lost and blew his chance. Fact

Veit has only lost to World champs and has a win over a current one. Does Dirrell? NO HE DOSENT . Ignorance.
Thing is Robert on this post I havent said one would beat the other, I said Veit is more accomplished. These are facts you are to ignorant to dispute.
Still Robert I will give you a question, out of Calzaghes 21 title defences tell me who the nobodies are and show me that most of them are nobodies. I know you wont answer Robert because you know yourself whenever you do, I school you. But if you do I will answer how most in those 21 defences arent nobodies.
    Now Think Robert Think
