No offence, but I think you're the one that doesn't understand what is meant. Re-read the thread responses again.

Floyd definitely gets credit for beating the best WW in the world, which was Shane. Shane paid his dues by beating the man, who was Margarito, the same man Floyd ducked for years. What hurts Floyd is that he is beating the elite fighters pretty much the same way Calzaghe was doing it, when they were past their prime or too small or both. Pac on the other hand shouldn't even be at WW, yet he beat Cotto, the man who beat a better version of Mosley Floyd fought, and he made very quick work of a fighter Floyd had to take into the later rounds to beat. If it was the other way around I'd be giving Floyd full props because he's not coming up from 130lbs to be facing bigger fighters even if they did have brutal ko's. I really hate that because someone loses their 0 they can't be as good as they were before, but that is the mentality today. That's why I think no one is denying Floyd's skill, but he won't be getting the same respect a Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez will unless he stops fighting fighters that are in the grey hairclub for men.

I'll close my arguments as to why it won't take long to forget these baseless accusations against Pac:

    1. The people who will remind the boxing fans about Pac's alleged doping have themselves forgotten about it

    2. Pac will retire soon and once he is done fighting, the likes of Cotto, JMM, and Floyd i.e. those who want him to undergo extra testing to fight him; won't have anything more to say apart from dwelling on the past.

Only time will tell who is right on this argument. History have shown though that even the most atrocious things are forgotten or have at least very little impact to future generations. Soon, you will only read about Pac in boxing history publications. Who do you think will be writing these publications? Possibly one or two current members of today's BWAA.

It's the back-up plan. If Floyd didn't duck PAC, PAC-Margo is not being made.

Floyd also fought JMM, a boxer that PAC already fought twice. PAC vs Margo is a more credible fight than that joke mismatched Floyd vs JMM fight.

Thanks for the response. It is always truly appreciated when people bring some level of insight and their strong "Boxing Opinion" to a thread...instead of the "NORMAL JUVENILE" ESB NAME CALLING AND INSULTS in an attempt to discredit a Thread Starter because their just too mentally lazy or just plain incompetent to respond to the thread. So again...THANKS!!!

Ok, I will begin with attempting to Answer your first set of questions:
Timothy Bradley, Andre Berto and Paul Williams are all Skillful, Athletic Boxers with Speed. It has no real imprtance if their names are "Famous or Well-Known" outside of Boxing...BECAUSE MANNY PACQUIAO IS THE BIG DRAW!!! Why do you think 50,000 Mutha'fukas showed-up in Texas Stadium....TO SEE JOSHUA CLOTTEY???? NO!!! They came to see Manny Pacquiao...And what they saw was Pacquiao hit a Heavy-Bag with Gloves for 12 Rounds...REALLY?

And for you to "****" on Bradley and Williams resume is just Blasphemy. Wasn't Williams the guy that whipped Margarito and when Williams offered Margarito a rematch, Margarito said NO and fought GOLDEN JOHNSON...WHO?? Then when Williams offered again, Margarito took less money to fight Cotto. Williams had vacate his 147lbs title because he couldn't secure a meaningful fight (ie...NO-ONE AT 147LBS WANTED TO FIGHT HIM). So he goes to 160lbs, fights Winky Wright, then schedules a fight with Kelly Pavlik. Then Pavlik Backs out just to fight a guy from "The Contender". So now fighters from Two different division DUCKS Williams...SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION...THAT'S WHO PAUL WILLIAMS IS!!!!

And maybe you're right. Margarito vs Pacquiao makes the best "financial sense"...but don't sell it to Boxing Fans as if this is the BEST FIGHT THAT COULD BE MADE....CUZ' THAT'S JUST BULL****!!!!

Damn...I answered your post, because I thought your Boxing Knowledge is strong....then you post that Pacquiao will get stopped by Margarito.

Wow Let's see...An extremely athletic, volume punching, Speedy Southpaw with KO POWER versus aN EXTREMELY SLOW FIGHTER WITH NO DEFENSE, NO MOVEMENT THAT TAKES A TON OF PUNCHES AND JUST GOT KO'D BY A 38 YEAR OLD WITH NOWHERE NEAR THE SPEED, ATHLETICISM AND KO POWER OF PACQUIAO.

My original prediction still stands: PACQUIAO BY DESTRUCTION IN LESS THAN 5 ROUNDS!!!!

Ahh...Cotto beat a better Version of Mosley huh? The Same Mosley that just came from Beating Vargas and Mayorga. In fact, before Mosley pulled a Late KO...he was trailling on at least one of the scorecards in both of those fights. Yet after Mosley destroys Margarito, and everyone says that Floyd will never fight Mosley...Floyd DOMINATES HIM...Here comes the excuses. Remember this, just one of the many times Mosley ducked/avoided/eluded questions about fighting Floyd: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lc9Kd955co[/ame]

And only an idiot was give the old: "Well this fighter is better because he won in 2 rounds, when the other fighter took 10 rounds rounds to beat him". That is the DUMBEST THING any so-called boxing fan could ever say. Styles make fights. When was the last 1,2,3,4, round KO Floyd Mayweather had? He is not a Knockout fighter. He simply outboxes, out-thinks, and out-smarts you for 12 rounds. You know what...I am done talking with you:-(

I don't normally respond to people like you...because it is SO beneath me. But I have an assignment for you. PLEASE FIND ONE OR ANY POST, THREAD, RESPONSE WHERE I HAVE EVER SAID THAT I THINK BLACK FIGHTERS ARE BETTER, OR A FIGHTER HAS A BETTER JAB, A BETTER HOOK BECAUSE HE'S BLACK!!! I'LL WAIT.....

Because Manny who is the real sheriff of Boxing is going to send Margarito into banishment for good, something the commissions uniformly don't have the integrity to do. He exposed Floyd for his illegal use of ducking and sent him on a long extended vacation without pay.
The guys you mentioned are all looking for one thing and that is to get paid don't think for a second they earned a shot. Williams maybe the only one that deserves a shot but he needed to dominate Martinez more for the mainstream fans to get interested in him stepping up against a much more dangerous southpaw.
Cotto, Tszu etc all had ten times the international support and resumes than those guys and Floyd ducked them all.

Those 140'ers aren't draws and makes less than a margo fight. Fighting Cotto would be too soon the same people will bash him for it. Other 154'ers right now is too much risking a future fight against Floyd. Get it now?

I don't remember who said it and I can't be bothered to go back through this thread but the caveat that Pacquiao is on roids because his KO ratio has gone up as he has moved up in weight, is nonsensical.

Take into consideration who he was fighting at the lower weights (JMM, Morales and Barrera) vs, who he has been fighting at the higher weights (DLH, Hatton and Cotto). He hit DLH all night long and couldn't hurt him, and even though he beat the **** out of Cotto he didn't have enough pop to knock him out cold. Hatton he just caught with a miracle shot. Clottey, he didn't even come close to hurting.

The TKO stoppages at the higher weights, have been the result of him overwhelming his opponents, nothing else. Why can't people understand this?

There is nothing about Pacquiao now and the Pacquiao of the lower weights, and the differences in between, that suggest he is on steroids. His improvement over the last couple of years has been exactly what Floyd Mayweather said is impossible, when he said that a fighter can't be average for a long time and then suddenly amazing. Pacquiao was never merely average, but if you can't see the vast improvements that he has made as a boxer and exponent of elite level boxing skills and strategy, then I am sorry but you do not know boxing.

There is a reason that the current Pacquiao would decimate the current Marquez at anything north of 135 and it is not that Marquez can't carry the weight as well as Pacquiao did. It is because Pacquiao is almost literally twice the fighter he was when he had trouble with JMM. Make no mistake that Marquez would be blitzed if these two met.

The advancements in weight... It's just good nutrition and a smart guy in Alex Ariza helping him to manage this. I don't know why any of this is so hard to understand. If anything Hank Armstrong exhibited more incredible feats of weight jumping in that he held all those belts simultaneously whereas - in an era where nutrition has taken a quantum leap, in terms of what we know and understand of it - Pacquiao wins a belt, then vacates it and moves up.

This steroid talk has to stop.
