What about brian vera? nevermind rushing him in with pirog. He knocks out vera and he has real power imo.

The problem is people wants big bucks to come to Montreal to fight Lemieux.

If he had the backing of HBO it would be a lot easier to find a decent opponent.

Lemiuex isn't close to being ready for a fighter of Pirog's caliber yet. Give him another 5 fights or so against decent competition that doesn't get knocked out early. I'd love to see him face someone like LaJuan Simon, who can box some but has a great beard.

Definately need to work on improving his footspeed though. He is in good hands though with his trainer at the moment. That guy knows his stuff. He was in an interview i saw on youtube when someone asked him how he would deal with the taller guys at 160 and 168. He said David would have no problem because he is a tremendous inside fighter. I fear however he may be outboxed by his rangier faster opponents.

Like any power puncher , you get david into the late rounds and you can beat him. Jason naugler done very well against him, well as good as you would expect from a journeyman.
Lemieux needs to fight someone with a chin just to see if that power is world class.

I'm just not sold on Lemieux. He's a good fighter with a punch, but I don't see world class athleticism or skill. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

Personally, I don't really care about that. Not every fighters can be highly skilled ala Floyd Mayweather.

Arturo Gatti wasn't the most skilled guy out there and he was in some of the best fights in recent memories and had a huge following.

    I'd love to see Lemieux-Chavez, Lemieux-Duddy, etc...

I am down for this fight.
If Lemeuix took out Pirog it would be a HUGE message to the rest of the division.

As per GYM promotion, he's ready for Jacob at anytime but not for Pirog

Even Jacobs is a little bit too soon for Lemieux. I wanna know who's gonna be the fighter in front of him on ESPN. There's only three weeks to that FNF.

I'm not sold on Lemeuix either. He can only fight inside at this point IMO. He is relatively short for a middleweight...and I think his reach is very short for a middleweight. Taller fighters with good skill and speed will be very difficult for him to beat. He should try to make 154 if he can.
