Just finish watching Maidana vs Kotelnik and let me say that i thought...

i had Maidana winning, i scored the fight 115-113 for Maidana

 

It was a tough one to call, qaulity vs quantity type situation. I'm not sure what i scored it at the time, i thiknk maybe a draw or a close decision for Maidana. But anyway, Maidana might have gotten it on neutral ground but it wasn't a robbery that Kotelnik won. It was just very close.

 

It was highly competitive and as the poster above said, it can't be called a robbery. I actually had it as a draw. From that I knew Kotelnik was going to keep it.

 

from this fight what can we say about him vs Alexander

 

that it actually has the "potential" of being an exciting match, not one sided as many are predicting.....So we will have to wait and see.

 

i never saw kotelnik but he has respectable victories and a 12 round loss to Khan

any insight on this guy

Whatever the outcome, that was an amazing pace Maidana kept up for 12 rounds. He wasn't just throwing a lot of punches, he was throwing POWER punches as well.

 

It was a superb fight and I had Kotelnik winning 7 rounds to 5 based on clean effective punching. Certainly a close fight which could go either way based on scoring preference (quantity vs. quality). But one thing is for sure: Kotelnik showed excellent punch resistance and stamina as well as some very nice skills, Alexander faces a legit threat tomorrow.
