The question should be how does a bum like Chavez get to fight Cotto? Oh yeah its the GBP machine. I don't see lil' Chavez lasting too long with the big boys. Even with Roach in his corner he is a c class fighter at best.

    Best tune up ever?

I tell you right now, if Mayweather fought Cotto then Mayweather would be in my good books.

Would it be as good as Pacquiao? No. Would it be as good as fighting Cotto when he was at the top? No. Would it be ****ing awesome? Hells yeah!

Seriously, Cotto is still a very skilled top talent and I think he is on the upswing... Even if he is diminished it isn't by much. I just have a feeling that Cotto isn't done yet.

Everytime Arum wants to make a name for one of his fighters, Cotto agrees to all of the terms. Cotto learn Arum is using you and why the hell fight Chavez Jr. in Texas:patsch

He has 'babied' Chavez to the record he has for a reason. Why let someone else cash out on it? It will probably come with another contract extension like when Cotto fought Pac for the big $.

Roach knows the business. He will cash out on Chavez and put his money in his pocket just like Top Rank on this one. Just because he agreed to train Chavez doesn't mean he believes in him. He could have just seen $ signs. He was willing to put him in against Pavlik too.

    Easy fights? PLURAL?

    What easy fightS are these?

    Your including the Foreman fight?

it was his first fight back after the worst loss of his career, just losing his dad, first fight with a new trainer, first fight in his new weightclass, and he took on an undefeated Foreman, and now all of a sudden Cotto is getting passes left and right for taking easy fightS?

Ya im sure he should have went right at Angulo all things considered :patsch

    wtf???

Not like fighting Margarito, Clottey, and Pac back to back to back ment anything, he fights Foreman and is rumored to be fighting Jr and all of a sudden hes getting passes cuz he takes easy fights lol.

People who think they are trying to cash out on Jr need to think about it more.... Cash out? After Jr just put in the best performence of his career against the best guy hes fought so far and his name just grew? Theyve got a LOOOOOT more to get out of JR and they know it, if anything Arum is trying to cash out on COTTO and build JR off of it.

People thinking this is such an easy fight will be in for a wake up call come fight night. This fight was stupid for Cotto to take.

I don't see it. I give Duddy some slack for the Lyell fight because Burns still had him trying to make 154. It was a catch weight and he missed it. Ballooned way up over night and was probably not at his best. Still, Lyell went on to get pounded by Sylvester. Duddy was hardly an indication that Chavez is now world class elite. Did you see Duddy/Lyell? In reality it was pretty one sided. I don't know that I'd pick Chavez over Lyell. OK. Maybe some hometown bias on that one, but still..... Cotto is still a class (or two) above, IMHO.

An easy fight or two are fine after the guys he fought recently. I don't want him to rush another big fight and lose then retire when he can stay active for one or two fights against easier opposition then take a big fight when 100% ready. Rushing to get praise from fools then also be called chinless and "better off retired" by those same cockroaches that praised him a week earlier is not what I want to see again.
