How would Amir Khan fare against these 140lbers?

Since Khan has moved upto 140lbs we have seen a massive improvement in him.

-He has put muscle onto his legs, improving his punch resistance tenfold (and let's be honest, if Prescott had landed those shots on ANY lightweight they would've been sparked)

-Joined up with Freddie Roach. Khan is now basically untouchable now. Unlike great defensive fighters of the past like Nicolino Locche, Pernell Whittaker and Wilfred Benitez, Khan doesn't even need to catch or avoid puches, he just jumps out of range and throws fast, super hard combos to dissuade and confuse his opponents, minimising any chance of being hit. Clever, very, especially considering the danger factor the oponents he has faced since going up (see that K.O Salita did that Sky showed, looked like a Jewish Julian Jackson :deal)

-Has beaten top-notch opposition. Salita was the no.1 contender and Paulie was a big talker with awesome boxing skills. KHAN OUTBOXED THE BOXER.

Amir is clearly not a great yet, so how would he get on with these 2nd rate Light welters in their primes?

Alexis Arguello: Like Gairy St Clair, Arguello was more of a super featherweight. Pryor took a lot f shots from Arguello and never went down, I think it's fair to say he didn't carry his power up. Khan is faster than Vilomar Fernandez, and won an Olympic medal, he also hits harder than Pryor so will stop him sooner. Khan KO 6 Arguello

Julio Cesar Chavez: We all saw what a fast puncher like Khan could do in the Taylor fight. Unlike Taylor, Khan will not allow his heart rule his head, Freddie Roach won't allow it. Easy decision for Khan.

Jack 'Kid' Berg: Old fashioned. Khan has Alex Ariza conditioning him, he will swat Berg to the mat like a hair-entangled klegnut into the toilet bowl. On film, Berg looks no better than Salita. Khan KO1 (first punch probably)

Ajose Olusegen: Ajose would probably be a step too far, even for Khan.

Exactly. People say Amir is a cherry picker, Hearns' best win was at 154 AGAINST A LIGHTWEIGHT in Duran (who had already lost to a lightweight called Esteban De Jesus, got floored in the first round in two fights against him, imagine if he'd been in with Prescott those nights??? People would not be talking about him now.)

As Duran never fought@140 I cannot discuss the fight. But we all saw what Ray Leonard did to Duran when the sneaky Panamanian couldn't trick him into fighting his fight, he schooled him.

Duran wouldn't have time to say 'No Mas' against Khan, Amir is too fast, and with Dr.Roach studying the tapes would know Durans every trick. Whitewash.

 

The only 140lver I'd pick to beat Khan is Floyd Mayweather Jr, only because no one would beat him at any weight he's fought at, but that's a given, his record speaks for itself :deal
