In a recent article/interview they ask Arum about a potential third fight between Marquez/Manny. He then mentions Marquez should face guys like Thimothy Bradley, Andre Berto, or Alexander to prove he could fight at higher weights. Is the guy smart or what, put Marquez with the young and prime fighters that are very hungry and top dogs are avoiding. My question shouldn't these be the guys Manny should be facing with no demands? Didn't Marquez already prove twice why he deserves a third match? If Manny is in a different level all of sudden why not just make easy money and shut Marquez and his fans up?

    Funny.

Pac-Marquez does PPV numbers than Pac-Cotto rematch or Pac-Margarito.

Then again, Pac will only fight Marquez at 147. If they fought at 140, it would be big.

This has been discussed already. Little interest from the public in this fight at 147. Marquez isn't the fighter Pac is at 147. Period. Personally, I think JMM would get stopped by Pac at this weight the way Pac has acclimated to going up in weight. Just the opposite that JMM has shown. NO reason at all for this fight now.

I know Marquez would give in to any of Manny's and Arums demands. But I would gurantee this if a third match was to be made, it would def. not be at 140. They will try to get him at his highest weight or a fight at 144. Arum mentions Manny is fighting welterweights and middleweights, but Clottey is the only exception to his statement. Manny's last few fights have been DLH at 147, Cotto at 145, and now Margarito at 150. It seems these fights have some weight demands that doesn't allow these fighters to reach the maximum limit.

While I dislike the idea of a weight class title fight being at a catch weight, I don't think Margarito will be hurting any at 150. Well, I do hope he is hurting during/after and for the rest of his life after this fight, but that is a different story....

Even with all that being said the point is a third match would generate a lot of money, Manny has an easy night, settles everything, and Marquez finally gets his wishes. The insane part Marquez was seem to be the man and Manny was going in a decline after their matches, and now everything has switch. Many questions, but no answers.

true, pac would destroy marquez at 147. I think this could end up like the pac-morales 3 ended. Pac would stopped marquez then the haters will come out and make the pac beat a past prime boxer excuse.

A long layoff and many problems not yet solve, could affect anyone. Margarito would not be as focus and if weight would have not been a problem he would have return at 147 instead at the 153. Trust me it's taking place at 150 because of it's reasons. Margarito is known to be a gym rat, but why didn't he return at 147. Manny has a 147 belt, why keep on cheating history?

You know arum do have a point. Right now if pac-marquez fight, everybody except pac haters would think pac wins this fight. So if marquez fight alexander or bradley/berto and win then people would give him a better chance of beating pacquaio which means more $$$$$$.

But everyone got their wishes, Manny prove who was better, Morales got his match and Manny and Morales then move on just like the fans. Same thing would happen with Marquez.

That is what I am not sure about. Pac would generate a lot of money regardless of who he fights. Arum sits down and has to figure out which fighter adds to that total and by how much. Mexican fans are a loyal base, but I don't know if Marquez will bring in enough to financially justify the cut he would want at this point. Now, if Pac beats Margo that may add to Mexican fan base wanting to see a rematch. But for a next fight instead of Margo? Not gonna happen. Pac is looking to set a belts/weight class record that will stand for a very long time. JMM brings nothing to the table but a higher expense that won't be paid for by the PPV's he sells by himself.

    Just my guess though.

Trust me this is a lose situation for Marquez, he would be fighting the young fighters who are hungry and would def. have great chances of defeating him. Top guys don't want to face these guys... Manny surely is part of that club, they are staying away as well from these hungry fighters that want to make a name for themselves. Let Manny face a Berto at least with no demands and Marquez a Bradley. Then that would be fair at least.

His numbers for the Diaz fight are good, he has been inside the ring with Floyd, the Mexicans would support him heavily and not only them but fans that feel he was rob. The story line is there, but most importantly Marquez would agree to everything esp. when it comes to splits in PPV buys. Trust me Manny could win more money with Marquez at this point than a fight with Margarito.
