Youre right Hermit, Cotto is def, overall, more then a class above jr as a fighter.....

But just IMO, and believe me m'man i hope im full of **** on this one, but just IMO..... this is just not a good matchup for Cotto. And people who are thinking this is going to be some walk in the park are the same type that thought the same thing going into the Margarito fight, while i was hear asking exactly how is Cotto going to have an easy time in that fight? (just like i am now)

We all got our opinions on this one man, and just in mine, who cotto is as a fighter, his strengths and weaknesses, i dont see this as an easy fight at all. I hope Cotto goes out there (if the fight happens, which i hope it doesnt, stupid fight with nothing to gain for cotto) and completely dominates Chavez like he did with Gomez.... and if he does i will gladly be bumping all these threads eating my just due, happy as can be while doing it.

But just going off what i see in this fight and how it plays out, i think this is not a gimme for Cotto... And i think him even stopping JR isnt happening at all.

What will be key here is cottos speed, defence, ring generalship and stamina..... i think if hes on top his game and makes it a boxing match, his class as a fighter should propel him to a UD, but i dont see a stoppage, and if he isnt at his best (that he can be, i realise we wont see a prime cotto in there) and gets careless it could turn into a long night for him.

Stupid fight for Cotto.... has everything to lose and nothing to gain, even if he completely dominates Chavez for every minute people wont give a ****, if he struggles with this 'hype job' and 'fraud' that people keep harping about, it makes him look bad.

Im just not happy about this fight at all :bart

Well, with this fight being under Stewart, I expect him to go defense first since it will be his initial fight with Manny. I don't think Cotto would have stopped Foreman if not for the knee. But, the fight is a long way from being signed. Last I heard, Arum still liked the idea of Pavlik/Chavez. With Arum, ANYTHING you hear this far out probably WON'T happen. :deal

Now Pavlik/Chavez.... that is a fight where i think that Chavez might get stopped in.... i think it would kinda be cruel to put chavez in there with pavlik right now, he needs a few more fights i think with incresing level of opponent and would need to work on a few more things.... but id def watch if it happened.
