Is this father setting his son up for an epic failure?

I can hardly wait for the day that I have a son so that I could teach him what I know about the sweet science. IMO though, this guy can only be setting his son up for failure.

 

Why base a style off Ali? He was hardly unbeatable or a solid technician. The kid looks weak and slappy, easy to hit. That video was a hype piece. How old is the kid, how many fights has he had? His dad seems like a muppet living in a fantasy world.

 

It seemed like his sparing partners were taking it easy and not hit him too hard.

 

I saw this om youtube a while back. He'll fail, he slaps with his punches and is easy to hit, he's wasted too much time and won't be mroe than a journeyman. Well made film, badly made fighter.

What a dillusional idiot. i cant imagine this guy doing very well in amateurs, so he should have an idea of how good he is by now.

 

meh, ya know, i think it's cool anyone dedicating so much time and effort to something, especially something we all are here cuz we love it, ya know? But one has to wonder after perusing thru the mega vids of sparring this person and that person and all that obv. dad induced hype if as suggested already, he might be getting lead down the garden path by the vicarious nature of his pops.

He don't look terrible or anything, and certainly looks in good shape for our sport. But it is wayyy over the top. I think I could murk him lke ...right now at age 16! And I eat pizza too. Not so strict a regiment to not allow for the cheesy delivered goodness.

Cliff notes: obvious hype job. still hope it works out ok for him.

 

when he comes up against some ruff and rugged kid whos been brought up ruff and ready this kid will have his heart broke and not want to fight its all gd ur pops picking big slow sparring partners for you then next min ur in with some one whos wants tear ur head off whos just as fast and as fit as and hates every one.

 

im sorry for this kid...its hard not to listen to your father, even when he is so wrong

Thanks for the comments. Did they not say the same thing about ALI.
Check out Spencer Steele sparring, it will blow you away. He is fighting guys 60lbs. heavier and kicks their butts.
Oh by the way he fights both sides .






What on earth does 'fights both sides' mean?

Surely anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge would use that term, or switch hitter.
