Vitali's chin is proven beyond a doubt. You're right on one thing though, he's no crackhead that has nervous breakdowns in big fights.

 

After the fight there would be the shock revelation that Briggs was actually the Klitschko's long lost cousin and Wlad would therefore not be able to fight him for family reasons...

 

There is aboslutely no doubt that Vitaly has one of the best chins in heavyweight boxing history. He has taken punches from Lennox Lewis, Sam Peter, Herbie Hide, Corrie Sanders, Chris Arreola, and Danny Williams without ever tasting canvas.

Well, I give you that. Vitaly was so dominant in those fights that it is ahrd to pick a particular incident of opponent landing a good shot.

 

Sanders knocked him down so it’s not impossible that Briggs would do it.

If Briggs should beat Vitali then little brother gets a chance to unify 3 belts against Briggs. I guess that's the brothers' secret plan. Vitali will box voluntary defenses with K2 rematch clauses until he loses and then Wlad gets in the picture and grabs the WBC strap.

 

Looked like a legit knockdown to me. He was hurt and stumbled to canvas after running away for a moment.

 

I think Vitali would probably rematch him first. So Briggs should beat Vitali twice, before the change to unify would happen

Depends on how Vitali gets beaten. If it's a clear loss, say Briggs knocks him out (hard to imagine considering Briggs was unable to catch Iggy with a single shot all night) then Vitali may retire on the spot, purely based on his age. That would open the door for Wlad to unify, should he get past Peter.

All this is hypothetical, but this is the only way for Wlad to unify the WBC belt without fighting his brother. Vitali has to lose in a voluntary defense (not mandatory) and then Wlad uses the K2 rematch clause.

 

Vitali trades more than Iggy and leans back to evade shots, what aint going to be as effective against Briggs, that it has been with majority of his opponents.

I see Briggs catching and hurting Vitali couple of times, but he would have to catch him in early rounds, to have enough stamina to finish Vitali off. Unless of course he knocks Vitali out with a one punch.

As for rematch clause I cant see Vitali just passing hes rematch if he is not totaly dominated. So if he isnt destroyed in first round or something, I think he would use hes rematch clause.

Depending on who beats him Wlad could also unify with him even if it was a mandatory where Vitali lost it.

He could also wait a while and if Vitali retires as a champion, fight against who ever wins the vacant belt.

Fight against Wlad would be the biggest money fight to whoever beats Vitali, so one would think they would want to unify after beating Vitali.

 

That's nonsense, the version of Briggs that faced Lewis was powerful, fast AND could box a bit - of course it was his awkward style that gave Lewis some problems before he figured him out. Briggs already had a bad chin and stamina problems back then.

Nowadays, Briggs is just a meatball with a punch - and slow as nails. Vitali is not unbeatable, but even if he (Vitali) got old overnight, he should have enough left to beat Briggs.

Briggs is a clever and safe choice of opponent for Vitali. A somewhat skilled, fast boxer (who dares to throw a punch unlike K. Johnson) could expose Vitalis age, but certainly not Briggs.
